Consistently moving to enhance infrastructure in Ikorodu, Honourable Babajimi Benson, Member of the House of Representatives (MHR), officially kicked off the construction of the Igbogbo Passport office road on January 26, 2024.
This road holds particular significance as it is strategically located to serve the first Immigration office in Lagos East, which began operations on December 1st 2023.
Also, the road is not of much distance from the Ogunlewe road which Rep. Benson constructed within the fourth quarter of 2023.
The road inspection saw the presence of key figures, including the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Bldr Sesan Daini, Mr Muyiwa Odunubi, Passport Control Officer, Mrs Adebimpe Akinsola, and other community stakeholders.
Representative Benson, represented by Bldr Sesan Daini, emphasized the road’s construction as a catalyst for development in the area, anticipating increased usage by residents within and outside the LCDA.
High Chief Adesola Oduntan, the Balogun of Igbogbo, conveyed the community’s gratitude to Rep. Benson for his commitment to road construction.
Chief Adesola, on behalf of the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, highlighted the positive decision to allocate the land for the immigration office instead of a market, resulting in ongoing development in the region.
Engr. Lateef Oduntan, the secretary of the Igbogbo Development Association, praised Rep. Benson for his transformative efforts in Igbogbo’s road infrastructure within a year, lauding him as a “silent achiever.”
He specifically acknowledged the fulfilment of the promised Ogunlewe road and the current focus on the immigration road.
Mrs Adebimpe Akinsola, Passport Control Officer, described Rep. Benson’s road construction as a giant stride and commended his consistent dedication to uplifting the standard of the Ikorodu federal constituency.
She noted that the community has witnessed significant development, especially following the completion of the Ogunlewe Road construction.
Bldr Sesan Daini, the executive chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, expressed confidence in Rep. Benson’s leadership, asserting that the progress in various road constructions affirms the wisdom of bringing him back to represent Ikorodu at the House of Representatives.
Daini extolled Benson as a unique leader with a consistent track record of performance.
Furthermore, Daini hinted to Mr Muyiwa Odunubi that the Igbogbo Passport office road construction project is scheduled for completion within two to three months, ensuring the timely realization of yet another promise by the national legislator to his constituents.
