ADESINA MAKES HISTORY: FOUNDATION LAID FOR FIRST CHURCH CHAPEL IN 40 YEARS IN IKORODU LOCAL GOVERNMENT ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

Resonating with religious stakeholders, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, fulfilled a promise decades in the making by laying the foundation for the first church chapel in the council’s 40-year history.

The historic ceremony unfolded at the council Secretariat on February 1, 2024, drawing Christian faithfuls from across the council.

The atmosphere was set aglow with high praise and worship songs, underscoring the council’s commitment to realizing the promise made by Chairman Adesina just four weeks before building a church chapel within the council premises.

Pastor Adebayo Idowu, Head of Ikorodu Local Government Christian Staffs, welcomed guests, hailing the foundation laying as a momentous day for the sons and daughters of the highest.

He expressed gratitude to Chairman Adesina for keeping his promise and commended Mrs Abolanle Adesina for her instrumental role in bringing the project to fruition.

Rev. Joseph Oduola, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Ikorodu chapter, emphasized the chairman’s act as providing a dwelling place for God within the council.

He asserted that undertaking such a divine assignment showcased Chairman Adesina as one of the Lord’s chosen.

Before the foundation laying, the WADESH BABES added vibrancy to the program through musical performances and presented a special gift to Mrs Abolanle Adesina, acknowledging her support for unique projects in the council.

Chairman Adesina, in his address, described the foundation laying as another milestone in the history of Ikorodu local government.

He expressed pride in being part of this historic moment and announced plans to construct the church chapel with gold, symbolizing the uniqueness of the project and divine provision.

The diverse guest list included notable figures such as Prince Adeniyi Mustapha, Elder Mrs Comfort Edede, and representatives from Ikorodu Local Government Christian Staffs.

Also in attendance were political figures, including Alhaji Rashidat Bello, APC Women leader Ikorodu division, and Hon. Adebowale Adebola, Leader of the legislative house, alongside other councillors from the council.

The foundation was officially laid by Mrs Abolanle Adesina, wife of the council chairman, further emphasizing the collaborative effort that led to the realization of the historic project.

The event left an indelible mark on the community, setting the stage for a new chapter in the spiritual life of Ikorodu Local Government.
