Ikorodu Federal Lawmaker, Rep. Babajimi Benson, kickstarts the transformation of Offin/Oreta road, bringing relief to long-suffering residents.

Celebrations overwhelmed the people of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, as Rep. Babajimi Benson, fondly known as the ‘Julius Berger of Ikorodu,’ initiated the construction of the dilapidated Offin/Oreta road.

This move aims to alleviate the longstanding grievances of residents who have endured the road’s poor condition for years.

The flag-off ceremony dated 4th of March 2024 witnessed a convergence of Apex Leaders from various divisions, including former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, GAC member Olorunfunmi Basorun, APC chieftains, local government chairmen, CDA Executives, stakeholders, and other prominent personalities.

His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, commended Rep. Benson’s continuous efforts in fostering development.

Olorunfunmi Basorun, Ikorodu Apex Leader and Lagos GAC member, highlighted the significance of breaking a 38-year stagnation on the road, emphasizing that the last proper construction was in 1986.

He urged residents to collaborate and support the APC party for more dividends of democracy.

Representing Ikorodu constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro (AMA), filled with joy said at the end of the project, only progress and a better standard of living will be yielded from the construction.

Contractors overseeing the 13km road construction assured the completion by December 2024, urging residents to cooperate for a swift project delivery.

Detailing the significance of the project, the Executive chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Bldr Sesan Daini stated that the Offin/Oreta road connects 51 different communities, explaining that it’s eventual completion will attract development like never before seen to the region.

Former Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture, Chief Asipa Kaoli Olusanya commended Rep. Benson for his unwavering commitment to Ikorodu’s growth.

Rep. Benson, praised for numerous infrastructural feats, expressed gratitude to residents for their endurance on the challenging road.

He emphasized the special importance of the Offin/Oreta road due to its connectivity, highlighting its role in routing people across Lagos State.

The completion target for December 2024 was reinforced by Rep. Benson, who urged residents to collaborate with contractors.

Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, lauded Benson’s efforts, aligning with the state government’s rural development agenda.

Andus College students expressed gratitude through a short poem, recognizing Rep. Benson’s contributions to the school road.

CDC Chairman Mr. Abayomi Adelakun assured full cooperation from residents.

Alhaji Taiwo Orenuga, APC party chairman in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA led numerous dignitaries who openly expressed their profound gratitude towards the federal lawmaker’s efforts.

Rep. Benson, after the official flag-off, proceeded to Odogunyan area to initiate the construction of Lucky Fibre Road.

As his transformative projects continue, whispers of Rep. Benson becoming the next Governor of Lagos State gain momentum.
