In a press conference held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, Bashorun Babatunde Tajudeen Rotinwa, Chairman of the Planning Committee for the 2024 Ikorodu Division General Assembly, emphasized the significance of collaboration among government, corporate bodies, and residents for the all-round development of the emerging city.

The media parley which took place at the Gbadamosi Conference Room, organized by the Liaison Group of the Eminent Persons of Ikorodu Division (EPID), aims to sustain the legacy of accountability and responsible stewardship initiated in the 2022 edition.

This year’s assembly, coinciding with EPID’s 10th-anniversary celebration, seeks to provide a strategic feedback mechanism for political representatives, government functionaries, and service providers.

The theme for the 2024 General Assembly is “Ikorodu Division: The Challenges of an Emerging City and the Imperatives of Synergy Between Government, Corporate Sector, and Residents for All-Round Development.”

Rotinwa highlighted the imperative of strategic partnerships to address the challenges faced by an evolving city.

Taking a forward-looking approach, EPID plans to host the general assembly as a hybrid event, utilizing various online platforms to engage stakeholders both locally and in the diaspora.

This move aims to position the assembly as a platform for robust discourse on leadership and developmental matters in Ikorodu.

Rotinwa urged political officeholders, government functionaries, manufacturing companies, financial institutions, and other corporate entities operating in Ikorodu to actively contribute to building a vibrant and developed community through strategic Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

Furthermore, Engr R.O Shoderu, Chairman, Ikorodu Liaison Group, called on stakeholders to provide their performance scorecards and CSR activities, emphasizing the collaborative efforts needed for the development of Ikorodu Division.

The assembly, scheduled for Wednesday, May 23, 2024, at the Ikorodu Ultra-Modern Town Hall, promises to offer a platform for in-depth discussions on challenges and prospects in synergy among all Ikorodu Division development stakeholders.

Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe, vice-chairman to of the planning committee, Political representatives, government officials, corporate organizations, and other strategic stakeholders are formally invited to attend, with EPID encouraging all Ikorodu Division indigenes and stakeholders to follow their social media handles for updates on the General Assembly and other activities.
