In a landmark development within the Nigerian Senate, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, renowned economist and former Managing Director of Polaris Bank, has been elected as the Chairman of the Southern Senators’ Forum.

This significant decision was reached unanimously by 54 Senators representing the 17 Southern states, signaling a collective endorsement of Senator Abiru’s leadership abilities and vision for the forum.

Senator Abiru’s illustrious career in banking, coupled with his expertise in economics and accounting, positions him as a formidable leader capable of navigating the intricate challenges facing the Southern region.
