DR AGBAJE VISITS COLE ESTATE IN IKORODU WEST LCDA, PLEDGES LASG’S SUPPORT ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, led a delegation to Cole Estate on Asolo Road, Agric, Ikorodu West LCDA, following recent incident of kidnapping in the area.

The visit, which took place on April 5th, 2024, aimed to assess the situation and offer support to the community.

Accompanied by representatives from the engineering department of the ministry, Dr. Agbaje was warmly received by the Vice Chairman of the Community Development Association (CDA), Hon. Balogun Oluwaseun, as well as stakeholders and residents of the community.

The presence of DPO Olukayode Awe highlighted the collaborative effort between law enforcement and the community in addressing security concerns.

Before conducting a site inspection, Hon. Oluwaseun briefed Dr. Agbaje on the state of the community prior to the recent incidents, providing valuable context for the discussions that followed.

DPO Olukayode Awe further elaborated on the ongoing collaboration between the police force, the community, and local security task forces in addressing issues such as deforestation, which could impact security in the area.

During the meeting, Mr. Awe, representing the community, made a request for solar lights to be installed in the estate to enhance security during nighttime hours.

In response, Dr. Agbaje commended the existing synergy between law enforcement agencies and the community, emphasizing the importance of prompt reporting of suspicious activities for further investigation.

Dr. Agbaje urged residents to continue collaborating and pooling resources to address emergencies effectively.

Regarding the request for solar lights, he assured the community that the Office of Rural Development would explore avenues to provide support. He pledged to present their request to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for consideration, expressing optimism for a positive response.

The visit concluded with Dr. Agbaje reaffirming the commitment of the Lagos State Government to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents, promising continued support and collaboration with communities facing security challenges.
