Working to enhance the stature of traditional leaders in Ikorodu, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina has announced plans to purchase an official bus for Baales within the local government area.
This announcement was made during the official flag-off ceremony for the Dada Street dual drainage systems project in Itunpate, Ikorodu, on the 11th of November 2024.
Hon. Adesina emphasized the importance of providing the bus to support the Baales in attending official functions across the local government.
He noted that this gesture would not only ease their movement but also elevate their standing, showcasing them as respected leaders across the community.
Responding to the chairman’s pledge, the Baale of Ojogbe, Chief Olukayode Olomo, expressed deep appreciation for the initiative.
He explained that an official vehicle would enable the Baales to attend functions in a dignified and unified manner, aligning with their traditional attire and the respect they command.
Chief Olomo added, “There is no program organized by the local government that I do not attend, so it is fitting for the council boss to support us with a bus to convey the Baales to these events in an executive manner.”
