As Muslims across Ikorodu Division and Nigeria mark the sacred celebration of Eid-ul-Kabir, Aarebirin Hon. Dr. Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, the Vice Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government and National Chairman of the Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGONVC), has extended her warmest wishes to the Muslim faithful, urging them to uphold the virtues of peace, sacrifice, and communal harmony that the festival embodies.
Dr. Folashade Olabanji-Oba conveyed this message on June 6, 2025, while speaking with Ikorodu News Network (INN) on the sidelines of activities surrounding the Eid-ul-Kabir festivities.
During her remarks, she also disclosed her latest political appointment as the newly named Director of the Grassroots Movement for Asiwaju 2027, a nationwide mobilisation effort geared towards building solid grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 presidential re-election bid.
“It is a great honour to be entrusted with this vital responsibility at such a crucial time in our nation’s political journey.”
“The Grassroots Movement for Asiwaju 2027 will galvanise support across every ward, community, and local government to ensure that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda continues to impact lives positively beyond 2027,” she said.
Dr. Folashade Olabanji-Oba’s announcement followed a press conference she convened on June 4, 2025, as part of activities commemorating the 10th anniversary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the 2nd anniversary of President Tinubu’s administration.
At the press conference, held earlier in the week, the respected grassroots politician revealed that several APC faithfuls in Ikorodu Division were empowered through a series of targeted initiatives aimed at fostering self-reliance and economic growth within the party’s support base.
“Empowerment is key to deepening democracy. We have worked hard to ensure that our party members feel the positive impact of governance.”
“As we celebrate 10 years of progressive leadership under APC and the remarkable strides of our President in his second year, we are proud to say that our grassroots are energised and ready,” she declared.
Dr. Folashade also stressed that the APC family in Ikorodu Division remains firmly united and prepared to give 100% support to APC candidates across all electoral levels.
“Our structures are solid, and our members are enthusiastic. We are ready to mobilise effectively to ensure that the APC continues to lead and deliver prosperity to our people,” she affirmed.
In closing her Eid-ul-Kabir message, she urged all Nigerians to use the season to reflect on the values of love, tolerance, sacrifice, and service to humanity, which are vital for the nation’s unity and progress.
“Let us continue to pray for peace and prosperity in our nation and support our leaders in their efforts to transform Nigeria into a land of renewed hope,” she concluded.
