Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, on Thursday joined other delegates in receiving Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat, at the Protea Hotel in Ikeja.
The reception comes amid a series of high-level political endorsements consolidating support for Dr. Hamzat’s emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election.
Also, in attendance were Mr. Tayo Ayinde, Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor; Mr Gboyiga Akosile, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity; Hon. Rasaq Olusola Ajala; Prince Usman Akanbi Hamzat, Executive Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government; Hon. Sesan Olowa, Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA); Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA; and Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, among others.
A day earlier, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu endorsed Dr. Hamzat as the party’s official candidate, further solidifying his position within the APC.
This followed a unanimous endorsement by the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), the apex political decision-making body in Lagos State, two days prior.
Participation at the Ikeja gathering highlights the growing alignment among key stakeholders, as momentum continues to build around Dr. Hamzat’s anticipated gubernatorial ambition ahead of the 2027 polls.
