The Holy Land Community Development Association (CDA) in Apapa Local Government Area of Lagos State has lauded Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for the delivery and installation of a brand new electricity transformer aimed at improving power supply in the community.
The transformer, which was delivered on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, is expected to significantly enhance electricity distribution and boost economic activities within the area.
Speaking during the reception of the transformer, the Chairman of the CDA, Mr. Isamotu Tajudeen Akanfe, commended the Lagos State Government for addressing the long-standing electricity challenges faced by residents.
He explained that prior to the intervention, the community depended on a shared power source with a neighbouring area, leading to irregular and rationed electricity supply.

“This transformer will go a long way in improving the living conditions of our people and boosting local businesses that depend on stable electricity,” Akanfe stated.
In his remarks, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to grassroots development and improved infrastructure across communities in the state.
He noted that the provision of the transformer aligns with the government’s broader THEMES PLUS agenda to ensure equitable access to basic amenities, particularly in underserved areas.
Dr. Agbaje emphasized that reliable electricity remains a critical driver of economic growth and social wellbeing, adding that the government will continue to prioritize projects that directly impact the lives of residents.
He also urged the community to take ownership of the facility and ensure its proper maintenance.

Several executive members of the CDA were present to receive the transformer, including Onuoah Emeka, Godspower Ikpimi, Omogbemi Elias, Adesola Ayeolowi, Adeleke Sheriff, Mukaila Akinlagun, Pastor Olaolu Amoo, and the Youth Leader, Bayo Omogbemi.
Community members described the development as a major milestone, expressing optimism that the improved power infrastructure will foster growth, safety, and better quality of life across Holy Land CDA.
