
The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje has congratulated residents of rural communities across Lagos State on the occasion of Nigeria’s Democracy Day celebration.
In his Democracy Day message on June 12th, 2026, Dr. Agbaje commended Lagosians, particularly those in rural areas, for their resilience, patriotism, and support for democratic governance.
He noted that Democracy Day serves as a reminder of the collective sacrifices made by Nigerians in sustaining the nation’s democratic journey and strengthening the values of freedom, justice, and inclusive development.
The Rural Development Adviser reaffirmed the commitment of the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to improving the quality of life in rural communities through strategic investments in infrastructure, rural electrification, water supply, healthcare, and other people-oriented initiatives.
Dr. Agbaje urged residents to continue supporting government efforts aimed at promoting sustainable development and community growth while fostering peace, unity, and active civic participation.
He wished all rural dwellers and the entire people of Lagos State a happy Democracy Day celebration, expressing optimism that the dividends of democracy would continue to reach every community across the state.
