The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, has announced the successful installation of two brand-new transformers delivered by the Lagos State Government through the Office of Rural Development to Omigo Phase One and Phase Two communities in Isiu (Ikorodu North LCDA), marking a significant step in expanding electricity access across rural settlements.
According to Dr Agbaje, the electrification project—executed under the supervision of the Lagos State Government Office of Rural Development—has been fully completed, with the transformers now installed and operational to serve residents of Omigo CDA Phase One and Omigo Onafoniyin Phase Two.
He explained that the intervention is designed to improve electricity supply not only for the beneficiary communities but also for at least ten surrounding communities expected to benefit indirectly from the upgraded power infrastructure.
“The fully installed transformers will serve about ten different communities, improving economic activities, social wellbeing, and general quality of life,” Dr Agbaje stated.
Reacting to the development, the General Chairman of the Omigo Joint Community Development Association (CDA), Mr. Adamu Ibrahim, expressed profound appreciation to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for responding swiftly to the community’s long-standing electricity challenges.
He also commended Dr Agbaje for his consistent commitment to grassroots development and for ensuring that government interventions directly address the needs of rural dwellers.
