Residents of Omigo communities in Isiu, Ikorodu North LCDA, have expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Government following the installation of a new water supply system aimed at addressing long-standing water challenges in the area.

The project, facilitated through the Lagos State Government’s Office of Rural Development, is designed to improve access to potable water for residents of Omigo Community Development Association (CDA) Phase One and Omigo Onafoniyin Phase Two communities.

Speaking on the development, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, stated that the water scheme project forms part of the state government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life in rural communities through the provision of essential infrastructure.

According to Dr. Agbaje, the initiative will significantly improve water supply within the beneficiary communities, thereby easing the burden faced by residents in accessing clean and safe water for domestic use.

Reacting to the intervention, the General Chairman of the Omigo Joint Community Development Association (CDA), Mr. Adamu Ibrahim, expressed profound appreciation to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for responding to the community’s pressing water supply needs.

“We shall continually be grateful to Governor Sanwo-Olu for his unwavering support to Omigo communities.”

“This project has brought much-needed relief to our people and demonstrates the government’s commitment to improving the welfare of residents at the grassroots level,” Ibrahim said.

The community leader also commended Dr. Agbaje for his dedication to rural development and for ensuring that critical projects are delivered to underserved communities across Lagos State.

Also speaking, Mr. Biodun Oduoye praised the Lagos State Government for its inclusive approach to development, noting that the administration’s policies continue to impact communities across the state.

He stated that the water project reflects the government’s determination to ensure that no community is left behind in the implementation of the THEMES Plus Agenda, particularly in the area of infrastructure and social welfare.

Residents of the beneficiary communities are expected to enjoy improved access to clean water, a development that is anticipated to enhance public health, sanitation, and overall living conditions within the area.

The project further underscores the Sanwo-Olu administration’s ongoing efforts to bridge infrastructure gaps and accelerate sustainable development in rural communities across Lagos State.
