The political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections in Lagos State has recorded a fresh development as the APC Lagos Unity Movement (LUM-KOH2027) has announced the appointment of Alhaja Rashidat Bello as the Lagos East Senatorial Women Leader.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was conveyed in an official letter signed by the State Coordinator, Akadri B. Adeleke.
According to the letter, the decision followed Alhaja Bello’s “demonstrated commitment, loyalty, and dedication” to the objectives of the movement and APC party.
The statement emphasized that her new role is strategic to strengthening grassroots mobilization across the Lagos East Senatorial District in support of the vision associated with the group’s political direction for the 2027 elections.
The movement expressed confidence in her capacity to mobilize women, coordinate political engagement structures, and expand membership within the senatorial district.
She is also expected to drive political education initiatives and contribute to the group’s broader electoral target, described as the “4 million Votes Agenda” across Lagos State.

Part of the appointment letter read:
“You are expected to provide effective leadership, promote unity among members, drive membership expansion, coordinate political education, and contribute meaningfully towards achieving the Movement’s 4 million Votes Agenda across Lagos State.”
The letter further urged her to discharge her responsibilities with diligence, integrity, and commitment, noting that the leadership of the movement is confident in her ability to deliver on the mandate.
The political movement is closely associated with support structures aligned with the administration and influence of prominent political stakeholders, including Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, whose 2027 political vision is referenced within the group’s internal communication.

Reacting through the appointment communiqué, the leadership congratulated Alhaja Rashidat Bello and expressed optimism that her elevation would strengthen women’s participation and grassroots coordination within the Lagos East senatorial axis.
The appointment adds to ongoing political alignments and mobilization efforts within Lagos State as political actors and support groups intensify preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
