
The Eyita West Community Development Association (CDA) in Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area has commended the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for the successful installation of a community water supply project aimed at improving access to clean and safe water.
Speaking on behalf of the community, the Treasurer of Eyita West CDA, Mr. Chima Anyanwu, described the project as a life-improving intervention that has brought relief to residents who previously faced challenges in accessing potable water.
He noted that the facility has eased daily struggles, improved sanitation practices, and enhanced the overall well-being of residents, adding that the community now enjoys easier access to water whenever needed.
Mr. Anyanwu also expressed gratitude to the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, for his commitment to ensuring the project was successfully delivered.
He commended the office for consistently driving rural infrastructure development across communities in Lagos State.
Also speaking, Mr. Lasisi Samson, who provided the land space for the installation of the water facility, appreciated the Lagos State Government for siting the project within the community and prioritizing residents’ welfare.
Speaking on the development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to expanding access to basic amenities in underserved communities.
He noted that the water project is part of broader efforts under the rural development agenda to improve living standards and reduce infrastructure gaps across Lagos State.
He emphasized that the government remains focused on identifying communities in need and delivering sustainable projects that directly impact daily life, particularly in areas of water access, roads, and social infrastructure.
He also urged residents to take ownership of the facility by ensuring proper maintenance and responsible usage for long-term benefit.
