“FROM RELYING ON WELL WATER TO A MODERN BOREHOLE SYSTEM ” – CROWN ESTATE CDA CHAIRMAN PRAISES SANWO-OLU’S WATER PROJECT ~ INN Nigeria ☆

The Lagos State Government, through the Office of Rural Development, has installed a modern borehole water supply system at Crown Estate Community Development Association (CDA) in Ilogbo Eremi Community, Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

The development has been warmly received by residents, who expressed appreciation for the intervention.

The project is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to expand access to clean, safe, and sustainable water sources across rural and underserved communities in Lagos State.

Before the installation of the borehole system, residents of Crown Estate CDA relied primarily on a traditional well to meet their daily water needs, a situation that often limited consistent access to safe and adequate water supply.

With the new borehole system now in place, residents enjoy improved access to potable water, significantly reducing the challenges previously associated with fetching water within the community.

Speaking on behalf of the community, the Chairman of Crown Estate CDA, Mr. Daniel Sunday, described the installation as a significant milestone in the community’s development.

He explained that the transition from reliance on a well to a functional borehole system has brought considerable relief to households, especially women and children who previously bore the burden of water collection.

“Moving from dependence on well water to a properly installed borehole system has brought real transformation to our community.”

“The hardship of water scarcity has been greatly reduced, and access is now easier and safer for all residents. We sincerely thank Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for this intervention,” he stated.

Mr. Sunday also commended the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, for his role in ensuring the successful delivery of the project.

He described Dr. Agbaje as a dedicated public servant whose consistent engagement with rural communities continues to drive grassroots development across Lagos State.

In his remarks on the project, Dr. Agbaje emphasized the need for residents to take ownership of government facilities by ensuring proper care and maintenance for long-term sustainability.

He reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s commitment to providing essential infrastructure that improves the quality of life in rural and peri-urban communities.

The Crown Estate CDA Chairman further pledged their cooperation with government authorities, assuring that the facility would be properly utilized and maintained for the benefit of present and future generations.
