The Lagos State Government has been widely praised by members of the Ilufe Ashe Community Development Association (CDA) in Ilogbo Eremi, located within Olorunda Local Council Development Area, following the successful delivery of a potable water scheme designed to enhance access to safe and reliable drinking water in the community.
The initiative, executed under the supervision of the Office of Rural Development, is part of the state’s continuous drive to provide essential infrastructure and social services to rural and underserved settlements across Lagos State.
During an on-site assessment of the facility, the Auditor of Ilufe Ashe CDA, Mr. Ganiu Lukmon, expressed gratitude to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, describing the intervention as both timely and highly beneficial to residents.
He explained that the community had long struggled with limited access to potable water, noting that the new facility would help improve hygiene standards, reduce the spread of water-related illnesses, and raise the overall wellbeing of residents.
According to him, the project is a clear reflection of the governor’s dedication to inclusive governance and development at the grassroots level.
“This project has brought immense relief to our community. For many years, we faced serious difficulty in accessing clean water, but this intervention has changed that situation significantly. We are sincerely grateful to Governor Sanwo-Olu for remembering rural communities like ours,” he stated.
Mr. Lukmon further acknowledged the efforts of the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, commending his role in ensuring the effective delivery and prompt completion of the project.
He described Dr. Agbaje as a proactive and results-oriented administrator whose contributions continue to drive development across rural areas in the state.
In his response, Dr. Agbaje encouraged residents to take responsibility for the facility by maintaining it properly and protecting it from misuse or damage.
He emphasized that the long-term success of government projects depends on strong community participation and shared responsibility.
He also reiterated the commitment of the Lagos State Government to expanding rural infrastructure and improving access to basic amenities such as potable water, road networks, and healthcare services across all communities.
The project forms part of the broader rural development strategy of the state government, aimed at closing infrastructure gaps and improving living conditions throughout Lagos State.
