In a festive spectacle that brought the yuletide season alive in Ikorodu, the Oshodi Arts and Culture Gallery Foundation orchestrated the “Sing for Christ” Children’s Christmas carol and end-of-the-year celebration 2023.

The event, held at the Ikorodu Musical Village on December 15th, welcomed over 32 private schools from across the division.

The atmosphere was charged with joy as students engaged in various activities, including dance, games, and special presentations.

The highlight of the day was the distribution of gifts by none other than Father Christmas himself, bringing smiles and excitement to the faces of the attending students.

Speaking on behalf of Dr. Oshodi Seyi Paul, CEO of Oshodi Arts Gallery, Mr. David Akinosho emphasized the program’s goal: to shift students’ focus from their academic routines and infuse the holiday spirit through entertainment.

Oshodi Arts Gallery has a reputation for curating memorable events, and this annual Christmas party for schools aligns with their commitment to fostering positive experiences.

The event was not only about entertainment but also adventure, with bouncing castles and facial paintings adding an extra layer of excitement to the festive gathering.

Special guests, including Mc holdsomething, Angel Baba Orobo, Asake (imposter), and Damilola, contributed to the vibrant atmosphere, thrilling the children with their presence.

The climax of the celebration was the heartfelt moment when Santa Claus presented gifts to each school in attendance.

The “Sing for Christ” Christmas party proved to be a resounding success, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of the students and reinforcing Oshodi Arts Gallery’s dedication to creating lasting memories during the holiday season.

The Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, has been named the Special Host of the highly anticipated Miss Arts Nigeria Reloaded Edition.

The event will bring together a fusion of beauty, talent, and culture, showcasing the vibrant arts scene of Nigeria.

Miss Arts Nigeria Reloaded Edition is a prestigious empowerment and reality show that celebrates the beauty and artistic talent of young women across the nation.

It has become a symbol of Nigeria’s rich culture and tradition, and this reloaded edition promises to be even more spectacular with the involvement of Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba.

Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba expressed her enthusiasm for her role as the Special Host. She stated, “I am honoured to be part of an event that not only celebrates the beauty and talent of Nigerian women but also promotes our nation’s rich artistic heritage. In preparation for her role, the LCDA Chairman visited the Oshodi Arts Gallery, the official organiser of the event.

This visit dated on the 16th of October 2023 was aimed at immersing herself in the cultural and artistic diversity that Nigeria has to offer.

Received by Dr Oshodi Seyi Paul, CEO of Oshodi Arts Gallery, the chairman admired art collections at the gallery and expressed her commitment to supporting and promoting the arts within her LCDA.

Miss Arts Nigeria Reloaded Edition is expected to bring a unique blend of empowerment and cultural celebration to the event, which is scheduled to take a run from November to December 2023.

It will be a grand showcase of Nigeria’s artistic talent and an opportunity for contestants to shine on a national stage.

As the globe marks World Tourism Day, Oshodi Arts Gallery, in grand style celebrated its almost 3years of involvement in promoting Art, Culture and Tourism in Nigeria.
The elegant ceremony dated 27th of September 2023, attracted students from schools within the waterbed region, Tourism experts in Lagos, the Nigerian Society of Art stakeholders and other special guests.
The paramount ruler of Ikorodu division, Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom, HRM, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi was ably represented by Ayangbure-in-council.
Waxing stronger in the sector, Oshodi Arts Gallery used the day to depict its definition of culture, an exhibition of local cuisines, and engage guests in various activities that the gallery has to offer.
Welcoming the guests, Dr Oshodi Seyi Paul, CEO of Oshodi Arts Gallery describe World Tourism Day as a wonderful way to explore and appreciate the beauty and diversity of our world.
Detailing his humbling beginning as an Art Lover, he said that Tourism refers to the activity of travelling to different places for leisure, recreation, cultural exploration, or business purposes.
“Tourism plays a significant role in promoting economic growth, cultural exchange, and understanding between different communities and countries”.
“As we press towards becoming a powerhouse in this industry, it is only right we join the rest of the world to celebrate Tourism and advocate its essence to our immediate society”.
“Today, we’re almost amassing 18,000 artworks because we have continuous quests to uncover the unique world of creativity, but our adventure only reflects Tourism and its fruits”.
“It is also important to use this occasion to inform our young ones to witness the value our tradition has within the corridor of tourism, and we must ensure to preserve them” Dr Oshodi asserted
Other speakers like Dr Kehinde Adepegba from the Lagos State University of Sciences and Technology (LASUSTECH) engage the guests on the connection between Arts and Tourism.
Dr Adepegba delivered an engaging speech that emphasised the significant relationship between arts and tourism, shedding light on how art can enhance and promote tourism experiences.
Furthermore, Veteran Journalist, Mr Ben Olomokor, had an engaging discussion with the students about tourism in Nigeria.
He passionately encouraged them to preserve the Nigerian culture and traditions as valuable assets, highlighting the significance of the Nigerian heritage in the tourism industry.
Both guests and students in attendance were treated to a special art exhibition tour inside the gallery, perusing the dynamic art collections the museum contains.
On the special attraction, the Oshodi Arts Gallery dance troupe showcased a series of cultural dance presentations.
Their performances were mesmerizing and added a vibrant touch to the celebration, which was in all a delightful experience for all the guests in attendance
The high point of the event was the presentation of a beautifully painted portrait of the paramount ruler of Ikorodu division, HRM, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi to his Ayangbure-in-council.

The official unveiling of Ankara for the 2023 Ipakodo Day Celebrations was held at the palace of HRM, Oba Bashiru Aremu Shotonwa on the 29th of August 2023.
Attracting stakeholders from the entire Ikorodu West LCDA, the program also set in motion the celebratory plans for Oba Sekumade’s 5th Coronation Anniversary.
Organised by a joint planning committee headed by Dr. Bolaji Adeniji, the program showcased a vibrant Ankara fabric, to be exclusively used in symbolizing the wealthy cultural heritage of the community during the festival period.
Before the unveiling of the Ankara, attendees from various facets of the town were urged to prepare themselves for the 2nd edition by partaking busily in the extravaganza which would begin on October 2023.
The chairman, Dr Bolaji, used the medium to reel out activities lined up for the celebration period, asserting measures put in place to make the anniversary successful.
“We urge all indigenes and residents of Ipakodo community to get ready for a celebration like never before”.
“There will be colourful displays of our traditional creations, free healthcare delivery, a day for market men and women, youth day, music, dance and more”.
“This year’s celebration will mark another significant milestone in honouring our Kabiesi, the esteemed Oba Sekumade of Ipakodo and celebrating the unity and pride of the Ipakodo community” Dr Bolaji added
Commending the planning committee for living up to expectations during the maiden Ipakodo Days celebration in 2022, HRM, Oba Bashiru Aremu Shotonwa instructed the joint planning committee to make the year 2023 edition top-notch.
Acknowledging the importance of the annual celebration, Oba Shotonwa emphasized the need to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Ipakodo by creating an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
Affirming his thorough guidance and support towards the success of the celebration and his anniversary, Oba Shotonwa encouraged the planning committee to be determined to organize a celebration that will leave a lasting impression on the hearts and minds of the community members.

The 3rd annual edition of the Ondo Arts Festival also known as OndoArtFest was powered by Oshodi Arts Gallery in collaboration with the Ondo State Government, Oshodi Arts Gallery.

Sculptured to improve harmony in the spirit of the yuletide, the festivity floated trends, and expositions of rich and diverse African best arts & crafts, stirring with entertainment.

The tourism extravaganza which spanned for one-week, headlined; a rendition of traditional live music, games, inter-tribal cultural dance competitions, fashions, ethnic foods, cultural histories & presentations, tourism edu-information, and youth acrobatic performances.

It further showcased the cultural heritage of the great people of Ondo State, from the 18 tribal dialects of her environs.

Enticing people of all ages, with a plethora of proficiency and stimulating the substantial relation between the people beyond native tongues and tribal sentiments.

The event ran from the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd of December, 2022.
