Taking education ideals up the pedestal with both basic items and essential gadgets, Bldr Sesan Daini (Executive chairman, Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA) once again hoisted the bar, catering to public schools across his entire local community development area Hosting institutional administrators at the Methodist primary school in Igbogbo on the 18th of March 2022, the council boss wowed his pedagogy sector by distributing 700 Chairs & Desks, 120 White Marker Boards Plus 10 Mowers for Grass Cutting to all Primary Schools in his wards A panorama that indicates embracing methods to improve standards of schooling, with good governance as the pointer displayed by the council chief, the move has obtained high applause from both bureaucrats and stakeholders around the communities The ceremony played host to Hon Saka Nurudeen Solaja, Mr Saheed Ibikunle, ward chairmen, Excos, community leaders, LGEA delegates, Hon Nurudeen Okejina, Hon Gbenga Oshin, Hon Akeem Sholawon, Princess Basirat Banjoko, Mr Ade Anifowoshe amongst other prestigious personalities In his statement, Bldr Daini intimated the guests present on the essence of executing the educational projects, "What we're doing here today is our commitment to our responsibility as stated in the Constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria which is to take care of the primary education in our area" "In Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, we have 12 primary schools, and we're working to ensure education is thoroughly promoted because that is the foundation of knowledge. If our children can get it right at the primary level, we're sure that 80% to 90% will get it right in both their secondary and tertiary stage" "Am a product of public school and I can attest to the fact that public schools provide the best capable hands to groom a child. Public schools is not about how much comes to your pocket at the end of the month, but the level of the impact made, which requires more dedication and commitment. Though am not taking anything away from the impact of our private schools" The chairman further asserted that the benevolence support is to project the THEMES Agenda of Governor Sanwo-Olu in bringing back the old glory that public schools offer to children He continued, "the Governor is equally doing his best for education at the state level. Before today we've met with all 12 administrators across the LCDA to ascertain their requests and requirements which they provided. Some requested for classrooms (which we're improving gradually), some requested for desks and chairs, some requested for the change of blackboards to white marker boards to enhance their teaching (which we're fulfilling today). OVER 300 RESIDENT GETS FREE HEALTH CHECK-UP, DRUGS & CONSULTATION, COMMUNITY MEDICS TAKES OFF IN IGBOGBO BAIYEKU LCDA ®™√ INN Nigeria © 44ok4m4mm3m302597401774760105 Dwellers of Selewu community in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA were crammed with gratitude and commendation towards Princess Abiodun Islamiyat Oyefusi, as she kick-starts her free health scheme tagged 'Community Medics' across Lagos State. The daughter of the former Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom launched her highly publicised medical program on the 3rd of June 2023. Despite the downpour which occur in the early hours of the day, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi took her team of medical experts and volunteer workers to the community and sets up canopies and chairs to cater to residents, who enlisted to profit from the health-oriented scheme. From diabetes, Blood Pressure tests, to malaria and other medical treatments, the program gave residents sufficient aid, culminating with medical physicians on the ground to advise patients with complicated health issues. A dispensary point was also created to administer free drugs to beneficiaries, as residents applauded the laudable health scheme. Speaking to members of the Press who were present, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi described the program as a means for her to support communities in Lagos State. She explained that health is vital to the well-being of every individual, which made it paramount for her to tilt towards creating the community medics initiative. "This program will randomly touch selected communities around Lagos State, I only choose to start in Ikorodu because it's my base, and as you know, charity begins from home". "Most times, people are afraid to go to the hospital for a minor check-up which would give a remedy to their health challenges, they refuse because they believe it's expensive". "That is why am propelling this course as a form of a mobile clinic to reach neighbourhoods and cater to their numerous illnesses before it gets complicated," Princess Oyefusi said Tirimisyu Uthman, a youth corper, who resides in Selewu town lauded the organisers of the program. He cheered the orderliness and effective coordination of the health scheme, which he participated in along with his father. Communicating further, he said, "The process is fast and organisers are doing a very favourable job". "I've seen medical programs like this, and before you realize it, medical practitioners will start requesting money for some particular services, but here, I can say there is nothing of such, it is free from start to finish". "If this health program is run by a private individual then I must commend their efforts towards achieving this course" Uthman asserted Another resident, Mrs Ebi Johnson conveyed joy and thanked the organisers for bringing the health program to their community. Mrs Johnson, who explained the significance of the program to herself, said the program has assisted her in reducing the cost of going to the pharmacy to undergo tests and acquire drugs. She and her 10yr old daughter gained from the program. "With a program like this, we'll easily detect sickness in our body that we're not mindful of, and also prevent lingering illness from our body" She added. In all, over 300 residents benefited from the program.

ZEBRA CROSSING: IKORODU PECULIAR LIONS CLUB CREATES SAFE CROSSING PATH FOR SHAMS-EL-DEEN SCHOOL STUDENTS IN IKORODU ®™√ INN Nigeria © eooekemmdmm3976505122441808413 Principal of Shams-EL-Deen Junior Grammar School, Ikorodu, Mrs Kadijat Bolatito Adedeji, conveyed her heartfelt appreciation to members of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, on the implementation of a Zebra crossing project for the school. The undertaking was completed by the club on the 2nd of June 2023, aimed at safeguarding students using the road subway during the school's morning and afternoon duration. Mrs Adedeji, impressed with the freewill task of the club, said the supportive job won a special place in her heart because it prioritises the safety of her pupils. According to the Principal, a safety program she had earlier attended, gave her the growing concern to assemble a similar project for the school (due to how motorists operate the road). She tells further, "I never knew how to make it happen, so it was a stuff of amazement watching the club coming out of the blue to get it done for our children". "With zebra crossing like this, it will make drivers careful in moving through this axis and keep our students safe as well". "I cannot thank members of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club enough for what they've done to aid the school, but I know that my God will bless them tremendously" She asserted. Illustrating the essence of the project to the students and school officials (who came out collectively to inspect the work), Lion David Akinosho, Charter President of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, said Zebra crossing is a prudent footpath that serves as a caution to motorists. He continued, "The importance of this track is to assist students in traversing the road, and prevent drivers from steering recklessly". "Any driver who understands what driving is all about is meant to slow down immediately they set their sight on this Zebra crossing track". "It is a crime (and punishable offence) for motorists not to stop or decelerate, particularly when someone is utilising this route to cross the road," He said. Lion Akinosho further urged the students not to abuse the use of the pathway since they've comprehended its usage, adding that their manner of maintaining the walkway will make other road users do the same. He subsequently instructed the students to take the information given to them about the Zebra crossing to the rest of their classmates and even to their parents at home. The project was supervised by Lion Kayode Aluko, Project Coordinator, Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club.
