The Igbogbo Students’ Union executives ably led by Hon. Comr. Clinton Olusegun Adeniji paid a courtesy visit to all Public Secondary Schools, Private schools including Tutorial Centres today in the area as regards their plight for a literate society.
The President made it known that the visit was necessary so as to be guiding principles for the whole community at large so as to know the way forward to achieving the LITERATE Society they want and crave for.
The visit saw the executives sharing their course of action on how to achieve this with all Principals, Proprietors and Owners of Tutorial Centres on how best to achieve a better result in terms of education this Year 2021.
During the visit, it was discovered that majority of students had dropped out of schools including the present SS3 students about more than 50% refused to resume back to school and the newly admitted JSS1 students about 75% are yet to resume.
It was gathered that Parents are not helping their children to crave or have a burning fire for education as majority of them are not well versed on the need hence their reluctance to even make their wards crave for it.
The President pleads with all stakeholders, Philantropists that there’s a need to do more for the students as majority of them lack basic amenities needed for their education as there are no enough support from them.
Also, he appreciates the LCDA for the work done so far on the development of the school but charges them to develop the students too.
Lastly, he stated there was a need for more facilitators to help them achieve their aims in this schools as we have over 10 schools to cover in Igbogbo/Baiyeku all this before they commence the WASSCE in March.
Noting that, Stakeholders and Philanthropist will be readily available to help by encouraging the facilitators so as to produce a better result.
All in all, he appreciates everyone and charges that all hands must be on deck. Many thanks to all executives and stakeholders.
