On the 3rd of November 2022, Ikorodu Local Government Chairman, Hon Wasiu Adesina, and his Legislative and Management team welcomed members of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Health.

According to the committee, the goal of their visitation is to look into the activities of Medical departments in all the 20LG/37LCDA, identifying challenges and areas with workloads of the main General Hospitals in Lagos State.

In response, the council boss appreciated Lagos State Governor, His Excellency, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his good works in taking Lagos State to greater heights.

He also thanked the Team head for their visitation.

Citing challenges, the committee head noted the need for the Local Government to employ more doctors in their various Primary Health Care centres, pleading with all Medical Officers in the Local Government to be up and doing and also the sure they work efficiently to save lives of the people in Lagos State.

However, he advised the Local Government to organise sensitisation programmes that would enlighten the entire public members of the need to patronise their Primary Health Care Centres for general common ailments rather than going to the General Hospitals.

He stated that this is the time to decongest all General Hospitals in Lagos State i.e. LASUTH, General Hospital Gbagada, General Hospital Ikorodu and many more.
