The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, continued his round of political consultations across Lagos with a strategic visit to key leaders in Ikorodu Division.
The consultation tour began with a courtesy call on former Deputy Governor and apex political figure in Ikorodu Constituency I, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye.
The meeting signaled the commencement of a series of engagements aimed at strengthening political alignment within the division.
Dr. Hamzat thereafter met with the apex leader of Ikorodu Constituency II, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, where discussions were said to revolve around party cohesion, governance continuity, and the evolving political dynamics in Lagos State.
In continuation of his outreach, the Deputy Governor also visited elder statesman and former Minister, Adeseye Ogunlewe, rounding off the day’s engagements.
Addressing the outcome of the meetings, Dr. Hamzat described the interactions as impactful, noting that they provided an opportunity to exchange ideas on governance direction and strategies for sustaining the state’s development.
The Deputy Governor underscored the value of consulting experienced political leaders, stressing that their insights remain critical in fostering unity and enhancing policy formulation across the state.
He added, “Harnessing the wisdom of experienced leaders and engaging critical stakeholders remains vital for sound policy development and improved coordination in governance across the state.”
