IJEDE LCDA CHAIRMAN LEADS MONTHLY ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION DRIVE ~ INN Nigeria ☆

The Executive Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, led the monthly environmental sanitation exercise, in line with the Lagos State Government’s reintroduction of the initiative to promote a healthy and clean environment.

The sanitation exercise, recently reintroduced by the Lagos State Government, is aimed at reinforcing environmental cleanliness, improving public health, and encouraging residents to take collective responsibility for their surroundings.

At the exercise, key government officials and stakeholders were present, including the Director of Environmental Health Department, Ijede LCDA, Mrs. Olorunsola Christiana Olajumoke; the Council Manager, Engr. Olusegun Orelesi; and the Executive Chairman, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, who led from the front.

Also, in attendance were the Director of Environmental Health from Health District 11 (Primary Health Care Board), Mrs. Alagbe Aderonke, and the Director from the Ministry of Environment, Mr. Lasisi Adetokunbo.

The exercise further drew participation from councilors, the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), supervisors, Special Advisers (SAs), and members of the management staff, all contributing to the success of the sanitation activities carried out across the LCDA.

Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba commended the Lagos State Government for reintroducing the monthly sanitation initiative, describing it as a vital step toward safeguarding public health and ensuring a cleaner environment.

She urged residents to actively support the policy by maintaining proper waste disposal practices and participating fully in future sanitation exercises.

The April edition marks a renewed commitment by both the state and local government authorities to sustain environmental hygiene and build healthier communities across Lagos.
