Lagos State Supervisors and Special Advisers, Ikorodu Division Forum (LSSIKDF), on Saturday, April 25, 2026, staged a high-profile solidarity walk in support of Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson.
The event, which drew significant participation from political stakeholders across Ikorodu Federal Constituency, culminated in a courtesy visit to the palace of the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom.
The walk, which began at Hon. Benson’s Constituency Office, moved through key parts of Ikorodu Division before arriving at the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, where participants sought royal blessings and formally declared their position ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Addressing the monarch and gathered dignitaries, Hon. AbdulLateef Odusanya, who read the official speech on behalf of the forum, emphasized that the walk was more than a symbolic gesture.
According to him, it was a collective expression of gratitude and a unified appeal for continuity in leadership.
“Today, we did not just walk; we made a statement,” Odusanya declared, noting that the forum, representing Ikorodu Local Government Area and the five LCDAs within the federal constituency, had come together “in unity, in strength, and with one voice” to endorse Benson and urge him to contest in the next election.
The forum highlighted Benson’s achievements as the basis for their endorsement, citing his track record of development initiatives across the constituency.
These include interventions through the iCare Foundation, road projects, educational support, ICT centres, empowerment programmes, and solar installations that have reportedly impacted all wards in Ikorodu Division.

They also praised his accessibility and grassroots connection, describing him as a leader who remains responsive to the needs of his constituents.
“JB is not a stranger to us. He lives our reality, picks our calls, and attends to our people,” the statement read.
The forum further commended his role as Chairman of the House Committee on Defence, noting that his position has brought visibility and federal presence to Ikorodu.
They described him as a representative who has elevated the constituency’s profile at the national level.
As part of their resolutions, the group pledged unwavering support for Benson and committed to mobilizing political structures across the 30 wards of Ikorodu Federal Constituency to ensure his victory should he heed their call to contest.
They stressed that their appeal was not an imposition but a reflection of the will of the grassroots.
“We walked to your palace because you are our father… As we show support for your son today, we seek your blessings for continuity,” Odusanya stated.
In an interview with INN, Aarebirin Hon. Princess Folashade Oba described the walk as a “love and solidarity movement” driven by admiration for Benson’s leadership.
She noted that the gathering was not merely political but deeply emotional, reflecting the genuine appreciation of the people for a representative who has consistently delivered dividends of democracy.

According to her, the solidarity walk was a clear message from the people of Ikorodu Division that they desire more of Benson’s leadership, having witnessed his developmental strides across the constituency.
She emphasized that the people are proud of his performance and are united in their call for him to continue serving.
“This is a love walk, a solidarity walk for a leader and a representative that we all adore. This is us saying we want more,” she stated, adding that Benson’s impact across Ikorodu Division has been both visible and transformative.
She further highlighted that the support for Benson transcends political affiliation, noting that his leadership style promotes inclusiveness, progress, and unity among the people.
“Across Ikorodu Division, he has done tremendously well. We want to say we love him. We are praying for strength for him as we approach another election season, and we stand firm and united behind him,” she added.

Princess Oba also called for a collective commitment to sustaining progress in the division, stressing the importance of continuity in leadership.
She used the opportunity to encourage residents and stakeholders to remain steadfast in their support for good governance and visionary representation.
She referenced the leadership style at the national level, expressing appreciation for the direction of governance and its influence on grassroots development.
She noted that the achievements recorded in Ikorodu are part of a larger framework of progressive leadership that prioritizes the welfare of the people.
“We are proud of who we are as a people. Ikorodu continues to grow in recognition and relevance, not just within Lagos State but across the country. We want the best for our division, and we believe in leadership that brings prosperity, progress, and love for the people,” she said.
She concluded by emphasizing unity and collective progress, noting that supporting one another strengthens the community.
“Lighting another person’s candle does not diminish ours; it only makes the environment brighter. That is the spirit we carry as a people, and that is why we stand with Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson,” she affirmed.

Similarly, Hon. Prince Oladega, Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Political Mobilisation and Strategy, noted that the turnout reflected Benson’s acceptance among the people.
He described the lawmaker as a true representative of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu, adding that the party’s policies continue to resonate at the grassroots level.
Oladega also expressed confidence in the party’s prospects ahead of the 2027 elections, stating that the APC remains deeply rooted in its tradition of negotiation, planning, and sustained governance in Lagos State.
The event concluded with chants of solidarity and renewed calls for Benson to heed the appeal of his constituents, as participants reaffirmed their commitment to the progress and unity of Ikorodu Division.
