Market leaders across Ikorodu Constituency I have endorsed Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye for re-election to the Lagos State House of Assembly, citing his support for traders and commitment to grassroots development.
The endorsement was made during a consultation visit by Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye to market women and leaders within Ikorodu West, Ikorodu North and Ikorodu Central on May 6, 2026.
Speaking on behalf of the market women, Deaconess Busola Isikalu, the Iya-Oloja General of Ikorodu Division, commended the lawmaker for his continuous interventions aimed at improving the welfare of traders across the constituency.
According to the market leaders, Hon. Ogunleye facilitated interest-free loans for market women, a gesture they described as impactful in helping many traders sustain and expand their businesses amid economic challenges.
They further noted that the lawmaker had on several occasions intervened on behalf of traders whose goods were seized by taskforce officials, leading to the recovery and return of confiscated items.
The market leaders, while declaring their support for his re-election bid, also appealed for improved market standards and the establishment of additional markets to accommodate the growing population of traders within the constituency.
Responding, Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye appreciated the market women for what he described as a vote of confidence in his leadership and representation at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
He assured the traders that their requests would receive necessary attention, adding that he would liaise with the Lagos State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development towards improving market conditions and creating more market opportunities for traders in Ikorodu Constituency I.
Hon. Ogunleye reaffirmed his commitment to policies and initiatives that would continue to promote economic growth and improve the livelihoods of residents across the constituency.
