Female undergraduates at Lagos State University were deeply inspired on Saturday, May 9, 2026, as Mrs Mojisola Agbaje delivered a transformational leadership lecture during the GET Women Initiative Leadership Summit held at the Students’ Union Arcade, LASU Ojo.
The impactful session focused on leadership, self-development, and the importance of women taking active roles in nation-building and community advancement.
Speaking passionately to the gathering, Mrs. Agbaje encouraged the female students to remain focused, confident, and purpose-driven in their academic and personal journeys.
She emphasized the need for young women to embrace integrity, resilience, and excellence as essential values for future leadership while also urging them to continuously seek opportunities for growth and positive societal impact.
The summit, themed “Becoming Her: The Real Path to Leadership,” was organized by the GET Women Initiative (Centre Development and Transformational Initiative for Women) in collaboration with BARAKAT and FASA to empower female undergraduates with practical leadership values, personal development strategies, and mentorship opportunities.
Mrs. Agbaje, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Hadassah Makeup Professional, delivered the keynote teaching titled “From Girl to Leader: What It Really Takes (Beyond Motivation).”
Her presentation stood out as one of the major highlights of the event, as she spoke passionately on discipline, consistency, self-development, resilience, and the importance of character in leadership.
Addressing the students, she emphasized that genuine leadership goes beyond social influence or temporary motivation, noting that true leadership is built through competence, responsibility, sacrifice, and continuous personal growth.
She encouraged the female undergraduates to remain intentional about building their future, developing valuable skills, and positioning themselves for opportunities capable of transforming their lives and communities.
According to Mrs. Agbaje, many young women possess great potential but often underestimate the importance of preparation, professionalism, and confidence.
She urged participants to embrace learning, maintain focus, and cultivate values that would distinguish them positively in society.
The wife of the Lagos State Governor’s Special Adviser on Rural Development, Dr Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje also charged the participants to see themselves as future change-makers capable of influencing governance, business, entrepreneurship, and community development.
