The monthly Apo Aanu Food Support Initiative of Babajimi Benson once again brought relief and hope to hundreds of vulnerable residents across Ikorodu Federal Constituency as the May 2026 edition of the programme held at the lawmaker’s constituency office in Ikorodu.
The humanitarian intervention, coordinated through the iCare Foundation, attracted a large gathering of beneficiaries comprising elderly men and women, widows, youths, low-income earners, and other vulnerable members of the constituency who received food support packages aimed at cushioning the effects of the prevailing economic realities.
The event also featured a separate free medical outreach facilitated by a friend and supporter of the iCare Foundation family.

The medical initiative, which catered specifically to members, friends, and associates of the iCare Foundation, offered participants access to basic medical screenings and health checks as part of efforts to promote health consciousness and wellness within the Foundation’s network.
The programme witnessed the presence of several prominent personalities and stakeholders within Ikorodu Division, including the Chairman of the Ikorodu Oga Development Association, Alhaji Kolawole Fatai; the Executive Chairman, Imota LCDA, Hon. Sunday Benson; party leaders across the Division; Community Development Association representatives; and members of the iCare Foundation who coordinated the exercise.

Stakeholders present at the programme commended Rep. Benson for sustaining what many described as one of the most consistent grassroots welfare interventions within Ikorodu Division, noting that the monthly initiative has continued to serve as a dependable support system for many struggling households.
Several beneficiaries who spoke during the exercise expressed gratitude to the lawmaker and the iCare Foundation, describing the intervention as timely and impactful, particularly at a period when many families continue to face economic pressure.
Observers at the event praised the orderly coordination of the distribution process and the sustained consistency of the Apo Aanu initiative over the years, describing it as a practical demonstration of responsive and compassionate representation.

Since its introduction through the iCare Foundation, the Apo Aanu Food Support Initiative has evolved into a major monthly welfare programme within Ikorodu Federal Constituency, reaching thousands of households through direct food support and other complementary interventions targeted at improving the wellbeing of vulnerable residents.
The programme continues to reflect Rep. Babajimi Benson’s people-oriented approach to representation, with emphasis on social welfare, community support, and grassroots impact across Ikorodu Division.
