The atmosphere in Imota Local Council Development Area was filled with joy and admiration on May 7, 2026, as political leaders, traditional rulers, residents, management, and staff of the council gathered to celebrate the 90th birthday anniversary of the Pioneer Executive Chairman of Imota LCDA, Hon. (Alh.) Kolashade Murtala Sanni.
The grand celebration, held at NS Event Centre, attracted dignitaries and prominent personalities from across Lagos State who came to honour the elder statesman for his immense contributions to the growth and development of Imota LCDA since its creation.
During the event, tributes flowed freely in recognition of the former council chairman’s enduring impact on grassroots governance, especially in the areas of infrastructural development, education, healthcare services, and youth empowerment across the council area.
Special tribute also came from the incumbent Chairman of Imota LCDA, Hon. Sunday Ayodele Benson, who described Hon. (Alh.) Kolashade Murtala Sanni as a distinguished leader and a symbol of dedication to community development.
He commended the celebrant’s visionary leadership and acknowledged his foundational role in shaping the administrative and developmental structure of the council.
Speaking during the ceremony, Hon. (Alh.) Kolashade Murtala Sanni expressed profound appreciation to residents, political associates, and stakeholders of Imota LCDA for the honour and goodwill extended to him on the occasion of his 90th birthday.
He noted that the achievements recorded in Imota over the years were products of collective effort and unity among the people, while also calling for continued support and cooperation with the present administration to sustain development within the council area.
