Former Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina, has been honoured with an Award of Excellence and Outstanding Performance in Local Government Administration by the Eminent Persons of Ikorodu Division (EPID).
The recognition was presented at the Ikorodu Ultra-Modern Townhall on Tuesday, 12th May, 2026, in appreciation of his contributions to grassroots development and administrative reforms during his tenure as chairman of Ikorodu Local Government.
Speaking after receiving the award, Hon. Adeshina expressed gratitude to the organisers for the honour, noting that the recognition reflects the lasting impact of his administration on the people of Ikorodu.
“I am highly delighted and grateful for this honour by the Eminent Persons of Ikorodu Division. It shows that we have not been forgotten and that what we achieved while in office is still being recognised,” he said.
The former council chairman stated that he remains proud of the achievements recorded during his administration, adding that his tenure laid a solid foundation for development and modern governance in Ikorodu.
“I am happy to have gone this far and to have contributed immensely to the growth of my community. If given another opportunity, I will do even more.”
“Our administration laid a very solid foundation for the people of Ikorodu. We moved Ikorodu from the old style of administration to a more modern system, and I am proud to have been part of that transformation,” Adeshina added.
He also used the occasion to urge residents of Ikorodu and Nigerians at large to continue supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the party has continued to deliver developmental projects across Lagos State and Nigeria.
According to him, Nigerians should support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, while also backing APC candidates in future elections.
“I want to implore our people to vote massively for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 and also support all APC candidates. More developmental projects and greater benefits will come to the people through the party,” he stated.
The event attracted notable personalities, community leaders, political associates, and residents from across Ikorodu Division, who gathered to celebrate Hon. Adeshina’s contributions to local government administration and community development.
