The ÌBÍLẸ̀ Development Diaspora Initiative (IDDI), a non-governmental organization focused on youth development and capacity building, has declared its support for the re-election bids of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Adetokunbo Abiru, and Babajimi Benson, while also endorsing Kadri Obafemi Hamzat for the position of Governor of Lagos State.
The group reaffirmed its commitment to supporting leaders it described as dedicated to sustainable development, youth empowerment, and responsive governance in Lagos State and Nigeria at large.
Speaking ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election scheduled for tomorrow, the organization stated that its members and supporters would participate actively in the democratic process, particularly in support of Hon. Babajimi Benson, popularly known as JB.
Prince Kayode Olaide disclosed plans to cast a vote for Benson at Ward C4 in Ibeshe as a registered APC member, noting that the lawmaker continues to enjoy grassroots support within the Ikorodu Division.
Prince Kayode Olaide also recalled attending the endorsement event organized for Benson by the Ibeshe Kingdom Development Association, describing the gathering as a demonstration of the lawmaker’s growing acceptance and popularity among constituents.
According to the statement, IDDI believes the continuity of the endorsed leaders would further strengthen developmental initiatives, improve governance, and create more opportunities for young Nigerians.
The organization explained that its primary objective is to promote, support, and contribute to capacity development among Nigerian youths. Though the initiative will commence operations in Lagos State, it has plans to expand across the country.
Explaining the significance of its name, the group stated that “ÌBÍLẸ̀” represents both the five major divisions of Lagos State and the Yoruba concept of indigenous identity, reflecting the organization’s commitment to culturally relevant and community-based development.
IDDI further noted that it aims to serve as a bridge between Nigerians in the diaspora and those at home, fostering collaboration for youth development and national progress.
The organization emphasized that it would operate strictly as a non-profit NGO focused on educational support, skill acquisition, entrepreneurship development, leadership training, and value reorientation for young people.
According to the group, its long-term vision is to contribute meaningfully to sustainable development goals in Nigeria by nurturing responsible future leaders and encouraging youth participation in governance and nation-building.
The initiative added that its activities would remain goal-driven rather than project-driven, ensuring that all programs and interventions align with its broader mission of youth empowerment and sustainable societal development.
