Residents of Eregidan Community in Oreyo, under Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), have received a major boost in electricity supply following the delivery and installation of a brand new transformer by the Lagos State Government.
The transformer was officially delivered to the Eregidan Community Development Association (CDA) on Thursday, May 14, 2026, as part of ongoing rural electrification interventions by the state government aimed at improving power supply across underserved communities in Lagos State.
Speaking during the delivery of the transformer, the Vice-Chairman of Eregidan CDA, Mrs. Omisogbon Bose, expressed appreciation to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for responding to the electricity needs of the community.
She described the intervention as timely and impactful, noting that the installation of the transformer would greatly improve the living conditions and commercial activities within the community.
Mrs. Bose also commended Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, for facilitating the intervention after conducting a comprehensive needs assessment in the area.
According to her, the Special Adviser demonstrated commitment to grassroots development by ensuring that the request of the community received prompt government attention.

In his remarks, Dr. Agbaje stated that the transformer distribution forms part of the Lagos State Government’s rural electrification initiative being implemented through the Office of Rural Development under the administration of Governor Sanwo-Olu.
He explained that the initiative was designed to bridge infrastructure gaps in rural and semi-urban communities while enhancing socio-economic development through improved access to electricity.
Dr. Agbaje further disclosed that several communities across Lagos State have already benefited from similar interventions, adding that more communities would soon receive transformers following the governor’s approval for additional distribution.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Lagos State Government to sustainable rural development and improved welfare for residents across the state.
