SANWO-OLU’S GOVT ASSURES MASSIVE RURAL INFRASTRUCTURE EXPANSION AS MINISTRY UNVEILS ONE-YEAR ACHIEVEMENTS ~ INN Nigeria ☆

The Lagos State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development has highlighted major achievements recorded over the past year under the administration of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, with renewed assurances of accelerated infrastructure development across rural communities in the state.

Speaking during the 2026 Ministerial Press Briefing organised by the Ministry of Information and Strategy, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, disclosed that the state government has continued to improve the socio-economic wellbeing of residents in rural areas through impactful developmental initiatives.

Dr. Agbaje noted that the administration has sustained strategic interventions in critical sectors, including road construction, rural electrification, water supply projects, community engagement, and collaborative governance involving traditional rulers and Community Development Associations (CDAs).

According to him, the various projects executed across rural communities reflect the commitment of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration towards inclusive growth and balanced development throughout Lagos State.

He further assured residents that the government would continue to expand infrastructure projects aimed at transforming rural settlements into modern and economically vibrant communities.

“The present administration remains committed to ensuring that rural communities are not left behind in the development agenda of Lagos State. More impactful projects will continue to reach the grassroots,” Dr. Agbaje stated.

In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for approving people-oriented projects that have positively impacted residents living in rural areas.

She reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the delivery of the administration’s developmental blueprint through the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda.

Mrs. Bolarinwa added that the Ministry would continue to implement policies and programmes designed to strengthen local governance, improve rural infrastructure, and enhance community development across the state.

The briefing attracted top government officials, stakeholders, and members of the media, including the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotosho; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Lanre Bajulaiye; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Government and Rural Development, Babatunde Durojaiye; directors from both Ministries, invited guests, and representatives of the press.
