Residents of Lugbusi Community Development Area (CDA) have expressed strong appreciation to the Lagos State Government following the installation of two water scheme projects aimed at improving access to clean and safe water in the community.
The Chairman of Lugbusi CDA, Mr. Babatunde Awolesi, described the intervention as a life-changing development, noting that it has significantly reduced the difficulties residents previously faced in sourcing potable water for daily use.
According to him, the water schemes installed in both the Joy Estate and Unique Estate areas of the Lugbusi CDA have brought immediate relief to households, improved sanitation practices, and eased the burden of long-distance water collection, which was once a daily reality in the community.
Mr. Awolesi commended the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for prioritizing grassroots infrastructure development and ensuring that rural communities are not left behind in the state’s development agenda.
He also praised the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, for overseeing the effective implementation of the project and ensuring its timely delivery.
In his remarks, Dr. Agbaje lauded Governor Sanwo-Olu for what he described as a consistent commitment to expanding access to basic amenities across rural communities in Lagos State.
He noted that similar water projects have been delivered in several communities across the state, in line with the administration’s THEMES Plus Agenda, which focuses on inclusive governance and improved quality of life for residents.
Dr. Agbaje further emphasized that the initiative reflects the government’s determination to bridge infrastructure gaps between urban and rural areas, particularly in essential services such as potable water supply.
Community members, including the Baale of Lugbusi, Alhaji Kamlat Kamson, have welcomed the development, expressing optimism that the project will improve public health conditions and support socio-economic activities within the Lugbusi CDA.
