
Glory Land Community Development Association (CDA) in Ilogbo Eremi Community, Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), have lauded the Lagos State Government following the completion and installation of a potable water project aimed at improving access to clean water in the area.
The project, facilitated through the Office of Rural Development, is one of the state’s efforts to enhance the living conditions of residents in rural communities by providing essential social amenities.
Speaking during an inspection of the facility, the Secretary of Glory Land CDA, Mr. Raphael Iselobhor expressed appreciation to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for extending developmental projects to grassroots communities.
According to him, the newly installed water system has addressed a long-standing challenge faced by residents and is expected to contribute significantly to improved sanitation, public health, and overall community well-being.
He noted that the intervention reflects the governor’s commitment to inclusive development and the provision of basic infrastructure across Lagos State.
“This project is a clear demonstration that the present administration is attentive to the needs of people at the grassroots. Access to clean water is fundamental to healthy living, and this facility will greatly benefit families within our community,” Iselobhor stated.
The community leader further commended the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, for ensuring the successful execution of the project.
He described Dr. Agbaje as a dedicated public servant whose efforts have continued to bring meaningful development to rural settlements across the state.
“We appreciate Dr. Agbaje for his commitment and constant engagement with communities. His intervention has ensured that this project was delivered successfully and will serve the needs of residents for years to come,” he added.
Speaking on the initiative, Dr. Agbaje urged beneficiaries to protect the facility from vandalism and ensure regular maintenance to guarantee its sustainability.
He emphasized that community participation remains vital to preserving government projects and maximizing their long-term benefits.
The Special Adviser reiterated the Lagos State Government’s determination to continue implementing people-centered initiatives designed to improve the quality of life in rural and riverine communities.
Other executive members of Glory Land CDA who also expressed gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu and the Office of Rural Development included Mr. Jimoh Sheriffdeen Olakunle, Financial Secretary; Mrs. Balikis Olugboye, Vice Chairman of the CDA; and Mr. Sodiq Anifowose, Member.
The executives collectively described the water project as a welcome development that will reduce the burden of sourcing potable water and enhance the socio-economic well-being of residents.
Community members also pledged to take ownership of the facility by ensuring proper usage, monitoring, and maintenance, thereby preserving the project for future generations.
