
Saka Avenue Community Development Association (CDA) in Ilogbo Eremi Community, Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), have expressed profound appreciation to Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, following the successful installation of a water supply project in the community.
Speaking on behalf of the residents, the Chairman of Saka Avenue CDA, Mr. Femi Temitope Dosunmu described the project as a life-changing intervention that has brought relief to community members who previously faced challenges in accessing potable water.
According to him, Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration has continued to demonstrate its commitment to grassroots development by ensuring that rural communities are not left behind in the state’s development agenda.
“Governor Sanwo-Olu is touching every nook and cranny of rural Lagos through impactful projects that directly improve the lives of the people.”
“This water project is a testament to his administration’s dedication to the welfare of residents in underserved communities,” Dosunmu said.
He noted that the newly installed water facility has significantly eased the burden on residents, particularly women, children, and the elderly, who often travel long distances in search of clean water.
“With this facility now fully installed and operational, our people can easily access clean and safe water whenever the need arises. This intervention will improve hygiene, public health, and the overall quality of life within our community,” he added.
The CDA chairman also extended heartfelt appreciation to the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, for his commitment to the successful execution of the project.
He commended Dr. Agbaje for ensuring that the project was completed within record time and for his unwavering dedication to addressing the developmental needs of rural communities across Lagos State.
In his remarks, Dr. Agbaje emphasized the importance of community ownership and sustainability of government projects.
He urged residents to safeguard the facility and ensure its proper maintenance for the benefit of present and future generations.
“Government can only provide these facilities, but it is the responsibility of the beneficiaries to protect and maintain them.”
“We urge the community to take ownership of this project and ensure it serves its intended purpose for many years to come,” he stated.
Dr. Agbaje further reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration to rural development, noting that the state government would continue to implement projects that improve the living standards of residents in rural and riverine communities.
Also joining in the commendation of Governor Sanwo-Olu and the Office of Rural Development were other members of the community executive committee, including Mr. Olatuga James, Financial Secretary; Imam Ojulopesi Musibaudeen, Social Secretary; Mrs. Olatunji Oyinloye, Women Leader; and Mr. Hassan Rasak, Welfare Secretary.
The successful completion of the project further underscores the Lagos State Government’s commitment to providing critical infrastructure and improving access to essential social amenities in rural communities across the state.
