JIMI BENSON, OTHERS ENGAGE IKORODU DIVISION YOUTHS ®™√ INN Nigeria © 202k2km2mmm2185508539965399454 In a bid to distinguish between reality and fiction in assessing the electioneering process, youth leaders in Ikorodu division held an awareness program on the 22nd of February 2023. Tagged 'delivering your polling units strategically', the educative fora drew coordinators from the National youth council of Nigeria (NYCN) Ikorodu division branch, National Association of Ikorodu division students (NAIDS), Students Union leaders and other factions to the Ita-Elewa youth activity centre. An enthralling panel, the forum allowed youths to engage leaders such as high Chief Asipa Kaoli, Rep. Jimi Benson MHR, Bldr Olusesan Daini, Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA chairman, and Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, Ijede LCDA council Boss, on ways youths can fully get involved in the canvassing and voting process. The program also captioned the official declaration of youths in Ikorodu division in support of the All Progressive Congress (APC) party for the forthcoming elections. Hitting the nail on the head, Chief Asipa kaoli in his statements, instructed youths present to change the course of their future by coming all out to vote APC. He said without missing words, that the current youths know how favourable the ruling party is bending towards their direction, thus, he instructed, "Pair yourselves on Saturday (Election Day) and come out not only to vote but also let others around you vote for your party (APC)". Also building their minds ahead, Asipa Kaoli advised the youths to ready themselves for leadership roles, exhorting them to study more for valid uplifts, and not aiming to attract favour they did not work for. Rep. Babajimi Benson MHR, Ikorodu federal lawmaker, who also attended the program, in his discourse, explained that as youths, representatives and leaders, the ruling party has a unifying factor, which is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. According to Rep. Benson, Bola Tinubu is one way or the other connected to those making things happen around the waterbed region, which in itself gives the division proactive leverage at the helm of affairs. He continued, "As youths, we're all hardworking and doing well, all we need now is a leader to integrate our expertise and make our dreams come alive, and that leader is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu". "Asiwaju knows Ikorodu, other candidates don't"! "A vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a 'yes' to all our APC working leaders in the division, which will make it easy for him to bring a lot of solutions to challenges we face". Explaining further, Rep. Benson said Nigeria is worth 500 billion dollars without adequate power supply, but India is worth 2 trillion dollars with power, a not too high margin in comparison to its regular challenges. "With a leader like Asiwaju, who can walk us out of power issues, Nigeria will thrive better as an economy, and a lot of youths will become self-employed rather than seeking government positions". "That's why on Election Day, everyone youth must not only be a voter for APC, but also a canvasser for the ruling party" Rep. Benson asserted Bldr Sesan Daini, Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, engaged the youths on the ideology behind the Progressive family. He explained that the All Progressives Congress's goal is to create free and rich Education, Infrastructure, Agriculture and other social amenities for the people. He continued, "The progressive family has existed since 1999 under the leadership of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and has had several names before now". "As the name implies we have always been progressive from the inception and there are lots of scorecards to show for it". "The Lekki Free Trade Zone is one of them and it was a vision that was foreseen and initiated by our leader Asiwaju" Bldr Daini added. Executive chairman of Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, lauded the organisers of the program, acknowledging that the engagement was designed to further position Ikorodu Division for more dividends of democracy through its voting strength in the forthcoming elections. According to her, "the youths must actively support the Renewed Hope agenda by voting for the presidential candidate of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday, February 25th". "I am confident that the quality of insights shared by different speakers at the event will help put Ikorodu youths on the right track politically" Motunrayo concluded Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, chairman of Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS), former constituency 1 APC aspirant Yinka Majekodunmi, Comrade Folarin Adegboyega and Comrade Eniola Bada, amongst others, were in attendance. OVER 300 RESIDENT GETS FREE HEALTH CHECK-UP, DRUGS & CONSULTATION, COMMUNITY MEDICS TAKES OFF IN IGBOGBO BAIYEKU LCDA ®™√ INN Nigeria © 44ok4m4mm3m302597401774760105 Dwellers of Selewu community in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA were crammed with gratitude and commendation towards Princess Abiodun Islamiyat Oyefusi, as she kick-starts her free health scheme tagged 'Community Medics' across Lagos State. The daughter of the former Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom launched her highly publicised medical program on the 3rd of June 2023. Despite the downpour which occur in the early hours of the day, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi took her team of medical experts and volunteer workers to the community and sets up canopies and chairs to cater to residents, who enlisted to profit from the health-oriented scheme. From diabetes, Blood Pressure tests, to malaria and other medical treatments, the program gave residents sufficient aid, culminating with medical physicians on the ground to advise patients with complicated health issues. A dispensary point was also created to administer free drugs to beneficiaries, as residents applauded the laudable health scheme. Speaking to members of the Press who were present, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi described the program as a means for her to support communities in Lagos State. She explained that health is vital to the well-being of every individual, which made it paramount for her to tilt towards creating the community medics initiative. "This program will randomly touch selected communities around Lagos State, I only choose to start in Ikorodu because it's my base, and as you know, charity begins from home". "Most times, people are afraid to go to the hospital for a minor check-up which would give a remedy to their health challenges, they refuse because they believe it's expensive". "That is why am propelling this course as a form of a mobile clinic to reach neighbourhoods and cater to their numerous illnesses before it gets complicated," Princess Oyefusi said Tirimisyu Uthman, a youth corper, who resides in Selewu town lauded the organisers of the program. He cheered the orderliness and effective coordination of the health scheme, which he participated in along with his father. Communicating further, he said, "The process is fast and organisers are doing a very favourable job". "I've seen medical programs like this, and before you realize it, medical practitioners will start requesting money for some particular services, but here, I can say there is nothing of such, it is free from start to finish". "If this health program is run by a private individual then I must commend their efforts towards achieving this course" Uthman asserted Another resident, Mrs Ebi Johnson conveyed joy and thanked the organisers for bringing the health program to their community. Mrs Johnson, who explained the significance of the program to herself, said the program has assisted her in reducing the cost of going to the pharmacy to undergo tests and acquire drugs. She and her 10yr old daughter gained from the program. "With a program like this, we'll easily detect sickness in our body that we're not mindful of, and also prevent lingering illness from our body" She added. In all, over 300 residents benefited from the program.

ZEBRA CROSSING: IKORODU PECULIAR LIONS CLUB CREATES SAFE CROSSING PATH FOR SHAMS-EL-DEEN SCHOOL STUDENTS IN IKORODU ®™√ INN Nigeria © eooekemmdmm3976505122441808413 Principal of Shams-EL-Deen Junior Grammar School, Ikorodu, Mrs Kadijat Bolatito Adedeji, conveyed her heartfelt appreciation to members of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, on the implementation of a Zebra crossing project for the school. The undertaking was completed by the club on the 2nd of June 2023, aimed at safeguarding students using the road subway during the school's morning and afternoon duration. Mrs Adedeji, impressed with the freewill task of the club, said the supportive job won a special place in her heart because it prioritises the safety of her pupils. According to the Principal, a safety program she had earlier attended, gave her the growing concern to assemble a similar project for the school (due to how motorists operate the road). She tells further, "I never knew how to make it happen, so it was a stuff of amazement watching the club coming out of the blue to get it done for our children". "With zebra crossing like this, it will make drivers careful in moving through this axis and keep our students safe as well". "I cannot thank members of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club enough for what they've done to aid the school, but I know that my God will bless them tremendously" She asserted. Illustrating the essence of the project to the students and school officials (who came out collectively to inspect the work), Lion David Akinosho, Charter President of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, said Zebra crossing is a prudent footpath that serves as a caution to motorists. He continued, "The importance of this track is to assist students in traversing the road, and prevent drivers from steering recklessly". "Any driver who understands what driving is all about is meant to slow down immediately they set their sight on this Zebra crossing track". "It is a crime (and punishable offence) for motorists not to stop or decelerate, particularly when someone is utilising this route to cross the road," He said. Lion Akinosho further urged the students not to abuse the use of the pathway since they've comprehended its usage, adding that their manner of maintaining the walkway will make other road users do the same. He subsequently instructed the students to take the information given to them about the Zebra crossing to the rest of their classmates and even to their parents at home.
