WIDOWS & ELDERLY INDIVIDUALS GET WELFARE SUPPORT PLUS HEALTH AWARENESS TIPS AS IKORODU PIONEER VIRTUAL LIONS CLUB RECEIVES DG WAGBATSOMA ®™√ INN Nigeria © screenshot 20220308 1531301122574638023793159 President, Lion Princess Adebukola Adefolayiga and her entire administration of Ikorodu pioneer virtual lions club received the district governor (Lion Fortune Wagbatsoma) on her second-day assignment trip to Ikorodu division on the 25th of February 2022 Known for procuring welfare and health solution to inhabitants, the club took the district governor to Ikorodu suburb community (Mowokekere) health centre where the unit organised a paediatric cancer awareness campaign, plus distribution of food items to the elderly and widows around the neighbourhood According to health expert and CEO, Total Respite Foundation, Dr Mrs Bolajoko Shogbesan (who was invited to speak at the program), ' lectured participants on the need to check for signs of cancer-related ailments during the preliminary project execution She continued, "Cancer is abnormal cell growth, Childhood cancers although generally uncommon, are as real in Nigeria as in another part of the world" "Most common childhood cancers occur in the Brain, Eye (retinoblastoma), Lymphoma, Blood (leukaemia), Bone (oesteosarcoma) and Neuroblastoma" "Paediatric cancer is curable, and at worst controllable, if reported early to hospital and specialised cancer centres and various types of cancers affect the child population (0-19years). Although, Childhood cancers are not infectious, and cannot be transmitted from one person to person" "Parents put their children at risk by; Genetic and familial predisposition, Developmental problems in the womb, exposure to infections such as EBV, HIV, HPV, Hepatitis B&C infections, and untimely vaccination against them, Exposure to radiations and toxic chemicals e.g indoor pesticides, Previous cancer treatments and Exposure to smoking" Dr Shogbesan expanded While platforms were given to parents and elderly folks to ask questions on tips to prevent paediatric cancer amongst children and adults, Lion Adebukola Adefolayiga brought the district governor up to speed on the progression of the club in making the project execution successful Lion Princess Adebukola Continued, "In our mission assessment hypothesis, we discovered that mowokekere community lacks the presence of institutions that could carry residents along and inform them on different ways to stay healthy" "Ever since then, Ikorodu pioneer virtual lions club decided to carve our niche in this locality, bringing our services closer to the people of this community and keeping them knowledgeable by promoting decent habitation" "Time in and time out, we've organised related programs like this and also supporting the elderly ones with welfare packages. OVER 300 RESIDENT GETS FREE HEALTH CHECK-UP, DRUGS & CONSULTATION, COMMUNITY MEDICS TAKES OFF IN IGBOGBO BAIYEKU LCDA ®™√ INN Nigeria © 44ok4m4mm3m302597401774760105 Dwellers of Selewu community in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA were crammed with gratitude and commendation towards Princess Abiodun Islamiyat Oyefusi, as she kick-starts her free health scheme tagged 'Community Medics' across Lagos State. The daughter of the former Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom launched her highly publicised medical program on the 3rd of June 2023. Despite the downpour which occur in the early hours of the day, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi took her team of medical experts and volunteer workers to the community and sets up canopies and chairs to cater to residents, who enlisted to profit from the health-oriented scheme. From diabetes, Blood Pressure tests, to malaria and other medical treatments, the program gave residents sufficient aid, culminating with medical physicians on the ground to advise patients with complicated health issues. A dispensary point was also created to administer free drugs to beneficiaries, as residents applauded the laudable health scheme. Speaking to members of the Press who were present, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi described the program as a means for her to support communities in Lagos State. She explained that health is vital to the well-being of every individual, which made it paramount for her to tilt towards creating the community medics initiative. "This program will randomly touch selected communities around Lagos State, I only choose to start in Ikorodu because it's my base, and as you know, charity begins from home". "Most times, people are afraid to go to the hospital for a minor check-up which would give a remedy to their health challenges, they refuse because they believe it's expensive". "That is why am propelling this course as a form of a mobile clinic to reach neighbourhoods and cater to their numerous illnesses before it gets complicated," Princess Oyefusi said Tirimisyu Uthman, a youth corper, who resides in Selewu town lauded the organisers of the program. He cheered the orderliness and effective coordination of the health scheme, which he participated in along with his father. Communicating further, he said, "The process is fast and organisers are doing a very favourable job". "I've seen medical programs like this, and before you realize it, medical practitioners will start requesting money for some particular services, but here, I can say there is nothing of such, it is free from start to finish". "If this health program is run by a private individual then I must commend their efforts towards achieving this course" Uthman asserted Another resident, Mrs Ebi Johnson conveyed joy and thanked the organisers for bringing the health program to their community. Mrs Johnson, who explained the significance of the program to herself, said the program has assisted her in reducing the cost of going to the pharmacy to undergo tests and acquire drugs. She and her 10yr old daughter gained from the program. "With a program like this, we'll easily detect sickness in our body that we're not mindful of, and also prevent lingering illness from our body" She added. In all, over 300 residents benefited from the program.

ZEBRA CROSSING: IKORODU PECULIAR LIONS CLUB CREATES SAFE CROSSING PATH FOR SHAMS-EL-DEEN SCHOOL STUDENTS IN IKORODU ®™√ INN Nigeria © eooekemmdmm3976505122441808413 Principal of Shams-EL-Deen Junior Grammar School, Ikorodu, Mrs Kadijat Bolatito Adedeji, conveyed her heartfelt appreciation to members of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, on the implementation of a Zebra crossing project for the school. The undertaking was completed by the club on the 2nd of June 2023, aimed at safeguarding students using the road subway during the school's morning and afternoon duration. Mrs Adedeji, impressed with the freewill task of the club, said the supportive job won a special place in her heart because it prioritises the safety of her pupils. According to the Principal, a safety program she had earlier attended, gave her the growing concern to assemble a similar project for the school (due to how motorists operate the road). She tells further, "I never knew how to make it happen, so it was a stuff of amazement watching the club coming out of the blue to get it done for our children". "With zebra crossing like this, it will make drivers careful in moving through this axis and keep our students safe as well". "I cannot thank members of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club enough for what they've done to aid the school, but I know that my God will bless them tremendously" She asserted. Illustrating the essence of the project to the students and school officials (who came out collectively to inspect the work), Lion David Akinosho, Charter President of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, said Zebra crossing is a prudent footpath that serves as a caution to motorists. He continued, "The importance of this track is to assist students in traversing the road, and prevent drivers from steering recklessly". "Any driver who understands what driving is all about is meant to slow down immediately they set their sight on this Zebra crossing track". "It is a crime (and punishable offence) for motorists not to stop or decelerate, particularly when someone is utilising this route to cross the road," He said. Lion Akinosho further urged the students not to abuse the use of the pathway since they've comprehended its usage, adding that their manner of maintaining the walkway will make other road users do the same. He subsequently instructed the students to take the information given to them about the Zebra crossing to the rest of their classmates and even to their parents at home. The project was supervised by Lion Kayode Aluko, Project Coordinator, Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club.
