Successful handover of the renovated Alogba Female Hostel to the school was held on Friday the 10th of February 2023.
Management, staff and students of Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu extended their profound gratitude to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, the Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo and the TG/PS Education District 11, Mrs Anike Adekanye, for contributing the enabling environment for teaching and learning in our schools.
Mr Akeem Bello, the school's Senior district principal further thanked Alogba Family as well as the Lagos State Government for investing in the life of the female students of Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu.

Jimi Benson, also the Chairman of the House Committee on defence asserted at the 30th anniversary of the Oriwu college old students association 1991/1992 set reunion. The occasion which took place at the Lighthouse event centre on Ebute-Igbogbo road brought together creme de la creme across Ikorodu division, including HRM, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom to felicitate with the alma mater on the 27th of December 2022.
Making the reunion memorable, the set renovated the school's science laboratory to enhance the college's educational standards, a move that was positively applauded by Mr Akeem Bello, Principal Oriwu senior model college.
Furthermore, JB as he's fondly called advised youths not to wait for openings, but instead create chances that will make them viable prospects, and a catalyst for community development.
Changing course gear towards productivity, Jimi Benson lengthened his applause to Mr Shakiru Seidu, Chairman, OCOSAN class set 91/92 for his diligence over the years as Chief Publisher of Mega Expression Media and Magazine.
Using him as a yardstick, the national lawgiver exhorted striving entrepreneurs to emulate his footsteps to evolve a self-sustaining game changer in the community.
Complimenting the commendation, former minister of works and housing, and new Lagos State GAC member, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe also praised the set for earning a lasting impact in the school, urging them to continue in such a generous approach.
Senator Ogunlewe, an alumnus of the same college, further instructed the set to tilt their support towards ensuring the school is ICT boosted for students to be technologically inclined at an early stage.
"As we celebrate the effort and longevity of our alma mater, we must bring to our consciousness how ICT has transformed many aspects of our lives to the extent that we live in an environment that is dominated by technology which itself is consumer-driven". "No matter how we perceive its presence, there is no denying that ICT is an important part of our lives and that it is here to stay".
"Even in teaching careers, the term Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has materialised into transforming academic engagements".
Senator Ogunlewe inferred that since the repertoire of technologies expands further to encompass computers and computer-related products, email, MMS, and other aspects of dispatch, the old students association set should try within its capacity to assist the college in upgrading its ICT standards.
Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN), Mr Shakiru Seidu, Chairman of the 91/92 set went down memory lane, highlighting teachers and administrators that guided their set to become trailblazers in the community.
He also mentioned names of classmates who've passed on to glory, reminiscing the good old days of youthful lust and fun shared.
He continued, "However, this occasion is specifically organised to give back to our Alma Mata and also to appreciate our mentors and teachers whom we were so lucky to have met in the course of our sojourn in life". "As Class-Set of 1991/92, we have given back to Oriwu College as a form of our little contribution to the development of the school because Government can not do it alone. So far, we have donated 3,000 notebooks in 2014, 150 Chairs and Tables in 2019, renovation of Physics and Chemistry Laboratories in 2022, presentation of 50 Lab Stools in 2022 and donation of two pulpits to the school Chapel and Mosque in 2022" He asserted.
Mr Shakiru concluded by appreciating the effort of all members of the 91/92 Class-Set, encouraging them to remain focused and committed to further strengthening their bond individually and collectively.
The program subsequently featured the cutting of the anniversary cake and special award presentations.

8866hhjj7E24196115243621340520. Day 7 of the 31st Ikorodu Oga Day, billed for Public Service day, Networking, Reunion and Award Presentation took place at Ikorodu Ultra Modern Town Hall on the 18th of November 2022.
The ceremony which was presided over by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, is aimed at celebrating and recognising the Illustrious sons, daughters and residents of Ikorodu in the Public Service.
The theme, Public Service and Community Development: Changing the Narrative of Yesterday, is concentrated on enriching the creative alliance between Ikorodu-Oga Development Association and the Public Service.
Citing the critical role played by the public service as the engine room of government and a principal facilitator in delivering good governance, Public service Day primarily intends to accentuate and admire the virtue and contributions of public institutions and public service in the development of the community and Nation building as a whole.
Rotimi Erogbogbo, Chairman, of Ikorodu Oga Development Association, in his speech, stated that the celebration should be used to refocus public servants on the changes within the division to sustain the momentum of growth and development.
Adding that IKODASS will proceed to strategically aid the public service sector with capacity-enhancing interventions, as it did with the teachers union. He continued, "We are going to facilitate the revitalisation of Ikorodu Public Service focus to foster renewed development and networking among Ikorodu public servants". Enjoining stakeholders to rise to the occasion by proffering innovative solutions, Erogbogbo urged guests to proactively find solutions to emerging challenges. To the recipient's occasions awards, he concluded that they've been found apt amidst several others, compelling them to remain committed and continue to exhibit the time-tested ethos, traditions and values of probity, honesty, transparency, integrity, hard work and excellent service delivery for which Ikorodu is known.
According to the keynote lecturer, Mr Lanre Kuye, Public Servants are key individuals who are positioned to implement government policies and carry out most of the proposals undertaken by the government. Additionally, though most of the public servants in Ikorodu as scattered around the LG/LCDAs, he said they're bonded by the singular stance to effect good governance which has bonded their strive as revealed by Ikorodu Oga Day celebration dedicated networking program amongst public servants.
"I consider the public servants as a community with common interests, and whenever they are positioned in the government, their utmost priority is to bring development to their community".
"In changing the narrative, all we can do is survey what we've been accomplishing before and enhance what is performing presently to make extra progress". Expressing that there's also a synergy between public service and CDA, even to LASUSTECH, Mr Lanre Kuye explained that the development of a man is the direct upgrade of any neighbourhood which must not be taken with levity. The 2022 Eko Independence Award recognised Mr Akeem Bello, Principal Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu as a distinguished role model of honour in the state on the 6th of October.
He was awarded the most resourceful, highly dedicated and most outstanding principal of the year at Lagos State Public Secondary School.
Under his belt, the institution has continued to gain more giant strides in academic performance and dominance within the education district 2 terrain and all of Lagos state.

8887766789908478776824734047089 Returning the favour for years of intellectual impact and beneficial endeavour, Oriwu Old students association, set '97 visited its alma mater on the 29th of September 2022.
As part of activities lined up to mark her 25th anniversary, the alumni students facilitated the installation of a 3-extension water supply system to the junior secondary arm of the college.
Received by Mrs Awojide K.O (Principal, Oriwu Junior model college), the delighted bunch was led by Mr Olatunji Shakioye (Chairman, Set '97), who officially presented the newly executed project to the gratified administration.
Extolling his classmates for completing the project and also the school administration for accepting it, Mr Shakioye illustrated the need to support the school via water system installation to mark its 25th anniversary.
In his words, "It is not just the product that matters but the value of returns the product brings about that makes the difference".
"As former students who've gone through this school to become outstanding in life, we know the importance of water, which we deemed fit to facilitate after conducting a project assessment for the junior axis of the school".
"We're optimistic this project will go a long way to nourish the students in the area of water, as we can only ask the administration to stand in the gap for the motive of maintaining the structure for it to serve its purpose for a durable period" Shakioye added
According to Mrs Awojide, the school spent a lot of money yearly on plumbing, which makes it a huge relief that the old students association has decided to support the institution with such an essential undertaking.
Adding that the school will ensure the structure is well maintained, Awojide tendered a heartfelt appreciation message to the association.
"Today is one of the best days for me in this school, evaluating the meaning of this project to our daily operations. I am proud and very pleased at this association for delivering this magnanimous project, enhancing significance to this great academy of ours" she explains.
"It shows that we're not forgotten and I must solicit you at this juncture that the good work you have done should continue because it is a seed you're sowing which would eventually germinate positivity in your respective lives".
"On behalf of the school, we thank the '97 Set, Oriwu old students association for their kind-hearted support, it is a project that will stand the test of time" Mrs Awojide asserted.

On the 3rd of October 2023, a groundbreaking ceremony marked the commencement of the ambitious project, which promises to transform the school's facilities.
The cornerstone of the renovation project focuses on providing standard toilets and ensuring hygiene and sanitation for the students and staff. Additionally, a block containing five classrooms is set to undergo a complete makeover, with workers already on-site to initiate the renovation process.

In addition to these tangible resources, Pastor Matthew emphasized the importance of collaboration and spiritual guidance. The crusade team has convened with 320 pastors on the ground to ensure the event's effectiveness, highlighting the spirit of unity and purpose.
