In her keynote address at the Conference organised by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island on Tuesday, Senator Tinubu urged participants at the event to work together, collaborate, and support one another to ensure that every woman in Nigeria has the tools and opportunities to reach her full potential. According to her, women have the power to shape the future as leaders, innovators, caregivers, and agents of positive change but must continue to break down barriers that limit their progress, challenge stereotypes, and foster an environment of equal opportunity for all. The First Lady told women at the conference to remember that their potential is not just about personal success; but about uplifting families, communities, and Nigeria as a whole, hence the need to unleash their potential and transform the communities. She said, “I call upon every one of you to embrace the theme of this Conference, "Unleash Your Potential", not only for your benefit but for your individual States and the benefit of our beloved Nation”. While delivering a Goodwill Message at the event, the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu said that the theme for the Conference, “Unleash Your Potential”, is very apt given the current challenges that Nigeria is facing, as it underscored the need to be more intentional and determined in harnessing the innate abilities and capacities of women to drive the Renewed Hope agenda at the national level, and similar initiatives being implemented at the sub-national levels. Sanwo-Olu maintained that the gathering of women under the COWLSO umbrella, represents an invaluable opportunity to explore the collective power and potential of individuals, particularly women, in the quest to build a Greater Lagos. He acknowledged the many interventions of COWLSO in critical sectors such as Health, Education, Environment, and Youth development are impacting positively the lives of Lagosians, revealing that COWLSO recently completed the construction of a three-floor classroom building in partnership with the Lagos State Committee on Rehabilitation of Public Schools (SCRPS), for students of Ogombo in Ajah. The Governor urged participants at the Conference to be catalysts of positive change in their various communities, workplaces, and families, saying that together, we have the power to shape a future where every individual, regardless of gender, is afforded equal opportunities to excel and contribute meaningfully to society. Other speakers at the event included the Senate President, Senator Goodwill Akpabio, and the Governors of Oyo, Ogun, and Osun who were represented at the event, lauded the various giant strides of COWLSO and the developmental projects already delivered by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials. Earlier, the Chairman of COWLSO and the wife of the State Governor, (Dr.) Mrs. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, acknowledged the First Lady of Nigeria Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, OON for the massive support she continues to give to women and children, as well as the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Governors of Oyo and Bauchi States, Engr. Seyi Makinde and Abdulkadir Mohammed for identifying with the cause of women's leadership and development in the State. The First Lady, who listed some activities of COWLSO under her leadership, reported that the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials had impacted lives through its various interventions in the education sector, agriculture, donation to orphanages, seminar on sanitation, security, and safety for market leaders and stakeholders, senior citizens outreach with presentation of cash gifts and household items, just to mention a few. According to the First Lady, the 2023 theme of the Conference “Unleash Your Potential”, is urging participants to take risks, face their fears, and push past their comfort zones to discover what they are truly capable of achieving. “Our focus is to bridge the gap between where you are presently and the place or position where you ought to be, where your potential is fully unleashed”, she added. The COWLSO Chairman, however, remarked that unleashing one's potential is a step one has to take with courage as anyone who fails to unleash his potential has robbed the world of valuable treasures.

$fb img 16784778061588035711046903714185 Wife of Nigeria’s President-Elect, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu on Friday visited victims of Thursday’s Train accident involving a staff bus of the State Government at the various health facilities where they are being treated. Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu were accompanied by the Wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Oluremi Hamzat, and other senior officials of the state government, where they empathized with the victims and assessed their ongoing treatment at the health facilities. The hospitals visited include the General Hospital, Gbagada; Lagos State Accident and Emergency Centre, Toll Gate; and the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja. They went on a ward round and got a first-hand briefing on the train crash and efforts to save lives. Whilst commiserating with the patients at the Lagos State Accident and Emergency Center, Senator Tinubu came across a 23-year-old man, Osita Anazi from Ebonyi State, who was involved in an auto accident and required surgery as a result of pains arising from clinical right femoral fracture. Senator Tinubu keenly enquired about his condition and out of compassion pleaded with the young man, who didn’t have the financial means for the surgery, to stay back in Lagos, assuring that fees for his treatment would be paid. According to her, “Lagos accommodates all citizens and prioritizes the welfare and well-being of all Nigerians.” Besides, Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu commiserated with the families that lost their loved ones, describing the accident as unfortunate and deeply painful. Speaking in an interview at LASUTH, Senator Tinubu urged drivers to be more careful and work to avoid situations that can result in the loss of precious lives in the future. “From our assessment of the situation, we can see that the patients are in good hands; they are stabilized. We are not God but we are saddened by what has happened. “We hope that the drivers are more careful to avoid this in the future. We commiserate with the families that lost their loved ones and wish those who are here speedy recovery,” Senator Tinubu said. She also commended the State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the State Government for taking care of the medical bills of all the patients, just as she presented various gift items to the victims to aid and fast-track their recovery process.$

It was again another massive gathering of women Hosted by the Southwest zonal Coordinator Dr Sanwolu, who told southwest that they have to go the extra mile to deliver APC candidates who have delivered greatly across board.

She called on women to begin the real work by going door to door house to house to harvest the votes that are ripe. She encouraged them not to relent in their effort till we get the result of success.

3884jrj4j4n8077121229696951910 All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday have vowed that Nigeria women and youth will deliver 40 million votes for the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, in the 2023 general elections.
Speaking at the women’s presidential campaign council flag-off in Ilorin, the national women leader of the party, Dr Betta Edu, urged women to lay aside all distractions, adding that, “the deal is 40 million votes for the duo of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima.
“We have a super candidate in Senator Tinubu as well as his running mate. The two of them will bring Nigeria to its dreamland. This is the time to unite and deliver the Best candidate Asiwaju Tinubu”, she said.
Edu also promised that women would be prioritized heavily and urged women not to be distracted from their set goals.
Also speaking, the wife of the president Aisha Buhari as she flagged off the APC women rally in Nigeria canvassed for a door-to-door and state-to-state campaign for the success of Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima in the 2023 general elections.
“Seven years ago, we did the same thing and the result was glaring for all to see. As a result, the 2015 victory of the APC was one of its kind in the history of elections in the country. The result was neither challenged in a court of law nor in public opinion. History is about to repeat itself. Nigeria women and youth will repeat the same thing in the 2023 elections. Under APC, the future of women and youth is assured. We as women will vote for our party, APC. APC is a party of peace and progress. It’s been carrying out its campaign devoid of character assassination as opposed to other political parties, except for commitment, mobilization and solidification of our youth. We want our women and youth to be under one umbrella to deliver Tinubu/Shettima in 2023. The women and youth of the Committee have become a movement and game changers for door-to-door victorious elections”.
In her speech at the event, the wife of the APC presidential candidate, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, promised to stand solidly behind her husband.
“We as wives, stand by our husbands to bring succour to the less privileged through entrepreneurship. For Tinubu/Shettima’s presidency, it means a greater Nigeria is on the horizon. The choice of Kwara is divinely chosen because the state is a state of Harmony”, she said.
Also speaking at the event, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara state said that, though the APC presidential candidate is not perfect, he would, however, get the support of people from the state because of his “provable excellent track record as a people’s person”.
The governor, who called on the Nigerian people, especially women, to support the APC in the coming elections for sustainable development, said that “As advocates of gender parity, we will work with Asiwaju to ensure that the rights and privileges of the Nigerian women are fully protected.
“Our support for Asiwaju Tinubu is not because he is perfect. Our support for Asiwaju is because of his provable excellent track record as a people person who is able to consolidate on the gains of the present, drive inclusive growth, and lead our country to become more prosperous.
“Asiwaju has the experience. He has the temperament. And he has the right network to make our country more united and stronger. By their antecedents, it is clear that the Asiwaju Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket is the most experienced and the most progressive combination available on the ballot in 2023.
“As the frontline state for gender inclusion and empowerment in Nigeria, I assure you of our commitment to making sure that women always get enough seats at the table where issues of public importance are decided”.

Above were the words of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Women Leader, Dr. Betta Edu where she assured the presidential flagbearer of the Party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the total commitment of the women folk in actualizing the latter’s presidential ambition. In a statement released by Her Special Adviser Political Matters, Seun Bosede Osamaye, while speaking at the inauguration of the Party’s Women Presidential Campaign Council, the elegant and scintillating numero uno of APC women folk, Dr Edu praised the personage of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu describing him as a man with the Midas touch who has enormous respect for the women gender. She further averred that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu had proven in times past of his strong belief in women’s capacity to lead. Hence, the need for all women under her ascendancy to go all out for his candidacy while pulling other Nigerian women of all walks of life.
