On the 28th of November 2023, the Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the ongoing construction of Igbe-Ogunro’s inaugural model primary school.

The initiative aligns with her administration’s commitment to advancing universal basic education and expanding learning opportunities.

The ambitious project encompasses the development of two blocks featuring four classrooms each, dedicated staff rooms, modernized toilets, an e-library, and an ICT center. Anticipated to cater to the educational needs of Igbe-Oloja, Igbe-Ogunro, and Igbe-Kapo communities within Ijede LCDA, the primary school is poised to become a cornerstone of academic growth.

Accompanied by members of the management team, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba assured the community that the primary school will be completed and operational by the first quarter of the upcoming year.

The undertaking reflects the LCDA’s unwavering commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and fostering a conducive environment for the holistic development of the younger generation.

The Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini, earlier this week, reaffirmed that the number one service on the priority list of his administration is to render to the pupils of the community the provision of a quality and value-driven education system.
He gave this remark at the meeting with the 13 head teachers from all the primary schools across Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and Mr Afolabi Amusa, Educational Secretary of Ikorodu Local Government Authority, at the Council Secretariat.
He said the Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA particularly his administration strongly believes that putting the education sector in the driver’s seat among other sectors of the economy and getting things done properly would genuinely bring about the desired socio-economic prosperity to the LCDA and state by extension.
Speaking at the meeting, Daini highlighted some recent developments in the educational sector of the LCDA, some of which are the newly built and fully equipped 1 block of 5 classrooms in Local Government Primary School in Oreta, all-round perimeter fencing of Lajo Community School, outset of pupils registration at the new Olu Odo Primary School in Olu Odo Community, and the impending distribution of educational materials to primary schools across IBLCDA for the new academic session next week.
“There are about 12,000 primary school pupils in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and we are dedicated to harmonising and prioritising the needs of every primary school in our LCDA.
We will equally share exercise books, amongst other educational materials for all the pupils in all primary schools next week” Daini said.
In addition, the Council Boss emphasized the need to establish a new primary school in the Oshorun area of Ibeshe to allow pupils to have access to primary education in the area.
Present at the meeting was the Vice Chairman of IBLCDA, Hon Nuraini Okedina-Maja, the council-manager, Mr Waheed Tijani, Hon Nurudeen Alimi, Leader of the IBLCDA Legislative Arm, Princess Basirat Banjoko, Deputy Leader of IBLCDA Legislative Arm, Hon Akeem Solawon, Councilor Ward C2, and Hon Adekunle Anifowose, Councilor Ward C5.

The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina has applauded Dr Yekini Nurudeen Agbaje, who recently bagged PhD in Educational Management from the Lagos State University (LASU).
The council boss, in a message sent to Ikorodu News Network (INN) on the 23rd of June 2023, stated that Dr Agbaje’s quest for academic excellence has propelled him to his present encomium, adding that life can only equip him for better opportunities based on his outstanding studious practices.
Adesina continued, “We are beyond proud of you for accomplishing this tremendous landmark, your hard work in school has paid off”.
“It is never for the soft to make it to the top of their field with this honour, it takes tenacity, and I couldn’t be more excited to see what you do next”.
“We’re proud and delighted to endorse you as you pursue your dream because you’re a Doctorate degree-holder now”.

Dr Agbaje was among the graduands decorated with the doctorate of philosophy in Educational Management at the Lagos State University (LASU) on the 22nd of June 2023.

Ikorodu-Born Dr Yekini Nurudeen Agbaje ‘Nero’, has bagged a PhD in Educational Management from the Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo.
The 3-time Lagos State House of Assembly aspirant in Ikorodu Constituency 1 under the All Progressive Congress (APC) Party was decorated with the Doctorate at the institution’s 26th convocation on the 22nd of June 2023.
Former Lagos State Governor/Former Minister, Mr Babatunde Fashola SAN, was conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree, Doctor of Humane Letters, Urban and Rural Community Development and Youth Empowerment (Honoris Causa) in the same ceremony.
Dr Kayode Fayemi, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, HRM. Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Kusenla III, HRM. Oba (Dr) Sulaiman Adeshina Raji, Ashade1, and Dr. (MRS) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu among others were awarded honorary Doctorate at the auspicious event which also commemorated the 40th anniversary of the Lagos State University.
Dr Agbaje, a Real Estate tycoon with a Higher National Diploma in Insurance, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics, with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and an MGD in Management from the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
