VOTERS PLEDGE SUPPORT FOR SANWO-OLU, APC CANDIDATES AS BOLOWOTAN TAKES CAMPAIGN TO IKORODU COMMUNITIES, MEET MARKET LEADERS, ARTISANS, YOUTHS ®™√ INN Nigeria © 494ik4k4n1411660689717627521 Ahead of the gubernatorial and state assembly elections, the Director-General of Lagos State Sports Commission, Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan has intensified the campaign for the ruling party, All Progressives Congress. The cerebral sports administrator and brand expert, over the weekend, activated a Get Out The Vote (GOTV) movement to achieve 120,000 votes for the party within Ikorodu at Saturday’s polls. Accompanied by his support group, the DG met with the representatives of North Central indigenes living in Ikorodu to canvass for votes for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other APC candidates. The leader of the group, Chief Gideon Boar who spoke on behalf of his people promised that they would vote massively to support Governor Sanwo-Olu and other candidates of the APC in Ikorodu Division. Bolowotan further took the campaign message to the grand finale of the Renewed Hope Football Challenge organised for the APC presidential, gubernatorial, Senatorial and House of Assembly candidates at the Police barracks field, Igbogbo road, Ikorodu. The football challenge which was sponsored by Bolowotan had six clubs drawn from the 5 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) participate, namely; Team Bola Ahmed Tinubu (Team BAT), Team Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Team Tokunbo Abiru, Team Babajimi Benson (Team JB), Team Gbolahan Ogunleye (Team OGA) and Team Aro Moshood Abiodun (Team AMA). The finale also had in attendance Rep Babajimi Benson who also urged everyone to give their votes to the APC. Meanwhile, on Monday, the Get Out The Vote (GOTV) movement met with market leaders in Ikorodu West LCDA, where Bolowotan urged the market men and women to support the efforts of the government in doing more for the people. He disclosed that the process starts with the re-election of Governor Sanwo-Olu and ensuring that the lawmakers that would represent Ikorodu at the state assembly are also the APC candidates. The team further met with leaders of the Nigerian Automobile Technician Association at the Mechanic Village, Agric, Ikorodu where the artisans were urged to give their support to the APC by coming out en-masse to vote for Mr Governor and the assembly candidates. Bolowotan and his team further moved to Ajaguro in Ikorodu West LCDA to meet with Grinders’ Association (Egbe Elero), CDA leaders, youths and other concerned voters. He again appealed to the people to come out in their numbers to vote for the APC on Saturday so there will be continuity in the good governance currently being enjoined in the state. The GOTV team ended their Monday movement at Majidun where they met with representatives of localities including; Ewenla, Oshodi, Loya, Ayagbo, Araromi, Olufunke, and Kunle Dipo communities. While they all had requests ranging from drainage issues to electricity and water challenges, they also pledged to give their votes to the APC. In response to some of their requests, Gafaar Bolowotan pledged to donate a borehole to the community and immediately made plans for the commencement of work. The excited people further prayed for Governor Sanwo-Olu while promising to troop out on Saturday to vote for the APC at all levels. On Tuesday, the Lagos Sports boss led his team to meet with the leaders of the Professional Carpenters and Furniture Makers Association of Nigeria. The meeting had in attendance; zonal chairmen, ex-chairmen, Ikorodu branch governor and his executives as well as the President of PCFA in Lagos who incidentally hails from Ikorodu. The PCFA team welcomed Bolowotan and his campaign crew with a rousing hospitality while thanking him for previous support given to the association. They further pledged to get all their members across the Ikorodu division as well as their families to vote the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the two APC candidates for the state house of assembly elections. In appreciation for their continued support, Bolowotan donated a 10KVA generator to the association while promising an even more robust relationship between the association and the government. The GOTV team also met with leaders of the Community Development Committee (CDC), Ikorodu 2 in the Oke Iriya area of Ikorodu. The community leaders who bared their minds on different germane issues, however, promised to troop out with other members to vote for the APC on Saturday. Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan in a chat with newsmen disclosed that there will be no resting for his team until the campaign deadline elapses as they intend to visit more communities and meet more voters. He further said that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been good to Ikorodu and therefore, a massive turnout and even better result than that of the presidential election was the best way to appreciate him.

OVER 300 RESIDENT GETS FREE HEALTH CHECK-UP, DRUGS & CONSULTATION, COMMUNITY MEDICS TAKES OFF IN IGBOGBO BAIYEKU LCDA ®™√ INN Nigeria © 44ok4m4mm3m302597401774760105 Dwellers of Selewu community in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA were crammed with gratitude and commendation towards Princess Abiodun Islamiyat Oyefusi, as she kick-starts her free health scheme tagged 'Community Medics' across Lagos State. The daughter of the former Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom launched her highly publicised medical program on the 3rd of June 2023. Despite the downpour which occur in the early hours of the day, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi took her team of medical experts and volunteer workers to the community and sets up canopies and chairs to cater to residents, who enlisted to profit from the health-oriented scheme. From diabetes, Blood Pressure tests, to malaria and other medical treatments, the program gave residents sufficient aid, culminating with medical physicians on the ground to advise patients with complicated health issues. A dispensary point was also created to administer free drugs to beneficiaries, as residents applauded the laudable health scheme. Speaking to members of the Press who were present, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi described the program as a means for her to support communities in Lagos State. She explained that health is vital to the well-being of every individual, which made it paramount for her to tilt towards creating the community medics initiative. "This program will randomly touch selected communities around Lagos State, I only choose to start in Ikorodu because it's my base, and as you know, charity begins from home". "Most times, people are afraid to go to the hospital for a minor check-up which would give a remedy to their health challenges, they refuse because they believe it's expensive". "That is why am propelling this course as a form of a mobile clinic to reach neighbourhoods and cater to their numerous illnesses before it gets complicated," Princess Oyefusi said Tirimisyu Uthman, a youth corper, who resides in Selewu town lauded the organisers of the program. He cheered the orderliness and effective coordination of the health scheme, which he participated in along with his father. Communicating further, he said, "The process is fast and organisers are doing a very favourable job". "I've seen medical programs like this, and before you realize it, medical practitioners will start requesting money for some particular services, but here, I can say there is nothing of such, it is free from start to finish". "If this health program is run by a private individual then I must commend their efforts towards achieving this course" Uthman asserted Another resident, Mrs Ebi Johnson conveyed joy and thanked the organisers for bringing the health program to their community. Mrs Johnson, who explained the significance of the program to herself, said the program has assisted her in reducing the cost of going to the pharmacy to undergo tests and acquire drugs. She and her 10yr old daughter gained from the program. "With a program like this, we'll easily detect sickness in our body that we're not mindful of, and also prevent lingering illness from our body" She added. In all, over 300 residents benefited from the program.

ZEBRA CROSSING: IKORODU PECULIAR LIONS CLUB CREATES SAFE CROSSING PATH FOR SHAMS-EL-DEEN SCHOOL STUDENTS IN IKORODU ®™√ INN Nigeria © eooekemmdmm3976505122441808413 Principal of Shams-EL-Deen Junior Grammar School, Ikorodu, Mrs Kadijat Bolatito Adedeji, conveyed her heartfelt appreciation to members of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, on the implementation of a Zebra crossing project for the school. The undertaking was completed by the club on the 2nd of June 2023, aimed at safeguarding students using the road subway during the school's morning and afternoon duration. Mrs Adedeji, impressed with the freewill task of the club, said the supportive job won a special place in her heart because it prioritises the safety of her pupils. According to the Principal, a safety program she had earlier attended, gave her the growing concern to assemble a similar project for the school (due to how motorists operate the road). She tells further, "I never knew how to make it happen, so it was a stuff of amazement watching the club coming out of the blue to get it done for our children". "With zebra crossing like this, it will make drivers careful in moving through this axis and keep our students safe as well". "I cannot thank members of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club enough for what they've done to aid the school, but I know that my God will bless them tremendously" She asserted. Illustrating the essence of the project to the students and school officials (who came out collectively to inspect the work), Lion David Akinosho, Charter President of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, said Zebra crossing is a prudent footpath that serves as a caution to motorists. He continued, "The importance of this track is to assist students in traversing the road, and prevent drivers from steering recklessly". "Any driver who understands what driving is all about is meant to slow down immediately they set their sight on this Zebra crossing track". "It is a crime (and punishable offence) for motorists not to stop or decelerate, particularly when someone is utilising this route to cross the road," He said. Lion Akinosho further urged the students not to abuse the use of the pathway since they've comprehended its usage, adding that their manner of maintaining the walkway will make other road users do the same. He subsequently instructed the students to take the information given to them about the Zebra crossing to the rest of their classmates and even to their parents at home.
